Looks like the Kings are arriving Monterey Bay in force.  Anyone interested in Salmont hunting on Monday?  We could launch at the MBK, Coast Guard Pier, or Lover Point.

I'm in. Just wondering whether they're more out near the point or closer to the red can, any intel would help.  Weather is always a little worse out near the point.
And it was cold as hell out there last Tuesday -fog/drizzle with a little wind and being right on the water = refrigerator wind chill.

I'm in FOR SURE for tomorrow :) As of now, I'm leaning toward launching from Lovers. I'll have a decision made later this afternoon after I hear from Pat :P

Mooching setup I use -  barbless circle hook tied to 30 lb leader, 5'-6', get a bait threading needle - just a 10" wire with a point at one end and an eye that's open (like a hook) on the other. Thread the needle through the eye of anchovy or herring, then out the tail, pull the leader through and the and hook up so it lays flat along the head, take a half hitch at the tail, put a little dental rubber band (bait stores) around the gills, tie to your mooching sinker (banana shaped with swivels at both ends) of 3-9 oz, drop down.  It's good to have several leaders made up and you can thread the next anchovy while the first one is soaking, then if your bait gets taken, you can re-rig faster.  There are probably better ways to rig, I'd be interested.
I will be out there early Monday about 6:30 - I'm thinking of launching from San Carlos Park beach (near Coast Guard ramp). Lovers would work too, but it returning will be upwind with a load of salmon aboard. Hope to see you out there.  Green P-15 with yellow "eye" on bow.

I am gearing up for  camping  out at the Veterans campground place that NCKA seems too like so I can  fish again on Tuesday,,,Less expensive than the gas back and forth and it will give me a chance for checking out the old  camping gear at a campground close to a town prior to Albion.,,,AND  because the conditions look good and the fish in the area look like  trophy's......
