Thanks for the great recipes. My wife is Chinese, and I thought we consumed every edible part of the fish, but fish stomach? That's a new one that we'll have to try.

Now I just need to catch some fish! I'm new to this saltwater fishing thing, and so far my specialities seem to be undersized lings, missing strikes, and losing fish at the boat. For example, I was at MBK on Sunday and pulled a trifecta---one undersized ling (I swear it was 21.75 inches...), lost a nice gopher rockfish right at the kayak, and missed about 3 more really solid strikes.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

My girlfriend, takes the skeleton with tail fin attached and deep fries it.  Then she eats it like corn on the cob. She is Japanese and is an expert on getting every ounce of meat off a fish.

Ken's sushi chef friend cuts the skeleton into 1-2" strips and batters them up with tempura batter and deep fries them. Ken says that salmon prepared this way is off the hook. I told Etienne I was saving enough collars and bellies to serve it as a main dish, same with the skeletons.

You know when you cut it up into small pieces and boil it for a while it tastes like chicken.  :smt005 Actually the stomach was pretty good. Not as gelatanous as meneudo and more on the chewy side but darn good eating.

Great thread Scott! Those are all good parts of the fish! I went camping with non asian friends two weeks ago and we made cabezon head soup at midnight one night after fishing that day. The belly was the hit! Ingredients were mainly basil, ginger, salt, pepper, and soy sauce...
