Wow, intense encounter. Glad you are safe. Seems NCKA has been averaging one incident per year.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

The shark expert said you were just starting to "PADDLE" your kayak...........
Is that true or were you pedaling?

Its hit the press.  Seriously wtf w the sheriffs/pd involvement?  Are they handing it over to the da's to consider prosecuting a battery, assault charge agains the shark?

This would be considered a "public safety" issue and where that occurred is Sheriff's Office jurisdiction.  Go easy on "the man" on this one, they're just trying to help.  I question the taking of the yak though and can only guess it was voluntarily surrendered.

Thanks for sharing Mel, and glad you're OK. I went to the wharf at 10 to see if anyone had caught WSB, and Mel, Kirk and Chad were loading up. There was some commotion going on and  Mel said 'I got hit by a GW. WHAT!!! I'm impressed by how calm you were, grace under fire. Glad Kirk, Chad and the PB were there to help. Way to go guys.
