I've been Jonesing to get back on the water and it looks like I can make it on Saturday.

I'm thinking of hitting Buck's early in hopes of some striper and sturgeon action... weather permitting.

High tide is around 7:00 AM, so I'd proably try to get out early and troll some plugs out to shell bank and then chuck some shrimp out for the outgoing tide.

Need one more shot at a Dino before the Halibut kick into gear.

Any takers?

I would like another crack at the the Dinos (and maybe some stripers) but I was already planning on heading out to Mendo for stripers......can't decide yet  :smt009

Good to see your getting in some fishing time! Good luck if I don't see you out there  :smt023

If the weather acts up... I'll think about joining you in Mendo... otherwise I need some saltwater.

Doubt I'll make it that early though.  More like 9am.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

I'm planning on launching a little further south- probably the Brickyard launch, then trolling for stripers up along the shoreline-- also about 7ish

Is there a place to launch near the brickyard without having to pay to Park in McNear's?

yes there is a "secret" high tide to moderate low tide launch.
If you are coming from Loch Lomond Marina, then JUST BEFORE, and I mean just before the brickyard turn off, park on the main road.  The breakwater ends there, and 10 steps you are past a little log, and on a sandy beach.

It looks like you are parking illegally, but you are not.
Don't climb up and over the rip-rap.  Just walk NE along the sidewalk, and you'll see the little beach.

I'm planning on launching there, then if i stay too long, and its muddy...I'll come in at Loch LOmond and walk back around.  If we have two cars, we can leave an "insurance" car at Loch Lomond!

Steve!  ....:smt076 you promised not to divulge the secret launch spot  ... just kidding :smt003

It's the easiest launch.... but conditions have to be ideal.... or you'll do the "Bataan mud march" :smt100 on the way back.

I'm not sure where I plan to fish Saturday.... but the Brickyard is high on my list right now unless it's pouring rain.  My second choice was to work the troll/drift San Quentin flats and give a big wave to Scott in prison :redmoon

Actually-- based on reports from yesterday-- I am switching my launch.  Going to launch from Quentin-- probably troll and drift that area and possibly the area between to paradise.

I'm going to stick with Buck's... I need a long paddle and a chance at one more dino.

I'll try to launch around 7 AM unless the weather winds up really bad (which it doesn't look like at this point).

no problem- it is an AWESOME launch in the right conditions-- like for a quick trip to the brickyard, or during a small tide.  Last year I nailed a bunch of stripers on top water about 15 paddle strokes from the launch.
