He's gonna call me tommorow to see how to work this , since doran doesn't open till 8 I may drag the yak down on the inside of the bay for an early launch. I'll keep this hookup updated.

Be careful out there fellas. HT and I went sailing at Doran this afternoon with the fog was coming in as were tons of commercial salmon guys due to their season reopens tomorrow.

The party boats were out at the whistle buoy...a good sign!

Sunrise is at 5:51.

I wouldn't count on that gate being open at 6am.

It went up from $6.00 to $7.00
put money in envelope and place tab on dash, make sure not to park by the bathrooms, you will get a ticket, I did.
Good Luck

I got there around 7:20 last saturday and the gates were open.
Since it's also a campground, I'm guessing that they don't lock the gates, but I could be wrong.

Ok, I just got off the phone with the main office for regional parks. They say that the gate WILL be open at sunrise. Since there's plenty of light to paddle out well before sunrise I plan on getting there around 5:00 a.m. just in case it's open early. If it's not, I'll just get my gear set up while I'm waitin'. Also, I got someone to pick up my kid from camp so I plan on staying later and goin' for the trifecta, King, Ling, n Dungie.

Andy, go to the north side of the north jetty and drag a sabiki. Lots of baitfish there. Wish I could make it. Good luck

If the gate is closed when you get there then just park somewhere outside of the gate (there are spots) and wheel in. It's only a few hundred feet of paved road.
