Just wondering if there's a special way each diver store away their open cell suit? Just bought my first open cell suit and the material inside the suit seems to be different than the regular 2 piece farmer john suit.

The exposed neoprene on the inside is the "open" in open cell. A standard wetsuit will have a layer of nylon/lycra glued to the inside as well, that's what limits moment and allows water to flush.

For storage never fold them, the neo will compress at the seam.  The best method is to keep them laid out or on a wetsuit hanger.  When packing them in a gear bag,  roll em up.

I just got my first open cell suit. so far it's great. I read to hang them inside out. Also dunking it in water before lubing it up makes it easier to put on.

I wish I asked this question earlier... :smt009
I already ruined mine. :smt010  I got mine from free dive shop in west sacramento 2009.  Picasso open cell 5mm that was on Clarence (which was such a great deal that I believe some of NCKAer got some too). I rinsed quickly every time I used but I stored in the plastic box in the garage. I believe last time I used was at Albion. I was getting ready for GS6 this year and realized that my inside of wetsuit was all stacked together.  I have to rip some part off to separate them out (I should have used hot water or something)... :smt010
I bought a new suit already from there again (they had Elite 5mm on sale).  I'm going to take old one for repair so see how it goes.

I use diluted (1:4) baby soap to slip me into the wetsuit.  The store uses diluted hair conditioner. I take spray bottle with me every time I go diving.

I wash mine as soon as I get home. I shake it real hard in a bucket of fresh water, turn it inside out and do it again. I then hang it inside out in the garage until the open cell side is dry. I then hang it with the outside out. Once it's dry it goes in the closet on a fat hanger. It works great. The inside won't stick together if you hang it on a hanger. Look at how every dive shop stores their inventory. Always roll never fold when it's in the bag.

I use the cheapest conditioner I can find and mix it with water in a 2 liter soda bottle. It's premixed and ready to pour. The big bottle hold's enought for several days of diving. The ratio of the mix isn't important. If it's slippery it will work. I started with a spray bottle but the nozzle and handle tend to break. There is no failure with the soda bottle.
Everybody dies, not everybody lives. What did you do today?
