Just took the t13 out for first time last weekend.   
Worked like a charm... but I really need to figure out better settings for the fishfinder... it would mark kelp, but not fish.   

Yup. That's the one.

I was looking thru my junk and found the manual for the FF. Let me know if you want it. That ff uses the same transducer as my 350c, so I'm pretty sure it is capable of finding fish.    It is hard to spot since the pixels are so big. There is a mode where you can turn on the fish icons, but you're gonna get a lot of false alarm if you do.
