What brought them in?  Food!  The wind/swell is bringing up krill = baitfish = salmon/WSB = sharks/kayakers  Foodchain!  Out on the water, we aren't at the apex.

Can I build a defense weapons incase a shark comes at me? I'm thinking broom stick with a long point spike at the end.  I noticed that guy in yellow was using a stake out pole? But it was just a pole which may have just pissed of the shark more.

Highly recommended. It provides a very convenient toothpick the shark can use to clean the plastic bits out of its teeth.

Possibly they are going to be within a few miles of large groupings of whales. If a whale died of old age or disease that would be a chance worth migrating oceans for. It would be where the action is in any case.

I guess the part missing from the equasion earlier is that food feeding on other food does generate sound & smell.  I do conceed that sound & smell play a part in their decision to be at one place vs. another.  I'm not convinced that the frequency at which fishfinders operate is the right feeding sound.

seconds before i got launched,,,,,i remember thinking to myself.....WOW! it is soooo quiet out here. Then i read about others feeling the exact same thing prior to getting hit.....BOO! (not funny)
IjustSCAREDmyself :smt009

I'm interested to know how many of these hits have come at or near fishfinder transducers.

Adam? Mel? Harry? Dan?

Just something I've always wondered....
mine was not on yet when I had my drive-by...

I had mine going.....I know Dan had his going......and i'm pretty sure Sean(piscean) had his on when he got throughly checked and followed.

I think the pinging from it, probably sounds just like a heart beat when picked up by their elctro-sensors.

The FF thing is interesting but I was mainly thinking about everyday garden variety surface noise that might spark a predator's culinary curiosity

Technically, I believe Mel's Revo kayak is Mango yellow- orange color. Might as well put mango with yellow for the statistics See the color difference - his and my yellow yak on the beach that morning - in his GWS post
