It was great to meet so many new people.  I've been to hook ups before but this was my first tournament.

One "fish" came up on the line but was not a keeper.

I brought a ton of beer hoping it would all get consumed on a hot day.  I figured 48 beers would not go far with almost 100 contestants.    I'm disappointed and pleased,  disappointed I had to haul home beer and pleased to see that there were not going to be any drunks on the road on the way home.

Eric,  you were a great host.  I don't know how you packed all that gear into your jeep.  I may need to check with you for packing advice.

The food was great!   VWOOL's cupcakes were great as were the dogs and salads.  I can't wait for the next event.

Congrats go out to all the winners.  It looks like the bite turned on late.  I came in a bit early as I was getting warm in the drysuit and opted to come in rather than shed it and become the topic of a safety first thread.  Next time I'll check the weather better and bring more appropriate gear.

G-Wizz took a sting ray assault to the shin.  On the radio it sounded like he initially took it to the junk.  A few paddlers were paddling over to him in hopes they could pee on him to ease the pain.  It just goes to show we are a brotherhood and are always there for each other :smt044

Hojo,  thanks for the photo documentary and it was great talking with you.

And Baitman,  the new yak is sweet.  I need to take one for a spin.

I had a great time even though I was skunked.  See y'all next time!

Great thanks to Eric's hard work on another great event.  Contrats to Patrick and Chucky on the winning fish.

OTW trolled most of the time and as you can see it's paid off especially if you want to cover water to find fish.  Also got the chance to see a batray fly out of the water on a hookup.

Got to ARW just after 6am to see about a dozen kayakers already preparing to head out. After getting a few anchovies from Great Bass 2 (Thanks Scott!), I rolled my kayak down the ramp and was ready to launch when I realized that in the excitement to leave the house, I had forgotten to pack my paddle! :smt013 Thankfully, Yakhopper had a spare paddle for me. Otherwise it would have been a very short tourny for me. Thanks Eric! :smt003

The morning was warm and windless, so I had to ditch my paddling jacket soon after launching. I trolled with the outgoing tide down the rock wall toward the second opening. The fishing was very slow, and I was dozing off when I heard G-Whiz yelling about being stung by a ray. I paddled over and saw that he was bleeding from a small puncture on his shin. Too bad Glen did not catch the tattoo session on one of the many GoPros rigged on his kayak.

I trolled for another few hours along the wall for nothing. Finally hunger got the better of me and I called it a day. The fishing sucked for me, but it was a great event. See you all on the water soon!

My 25.25" halibut trolled on my new rod holder setup with dead anchovie (Thanks Scoot for the anchovies and the gracious donation to HOW).  Thanks for the food, drinks, and to all that attended.  Anyone else got pictures of fish?

Eric, thanks, yet again, for another killer day on the water.  Your prize bags are always plentiful and chock-full of useable prizes.  Your events are always a treat.

Congrats to the Champs!  You guys deserve it.

The weather was outstanding, and we had a blast.

Eric, thanks for putting this together. It was a great outing by the group as usual. Can i suggest we work the tournament around good halibut tides? It's been tough fishing the ARW the past few years, but maybe that is the point!  Thanks again! :smt005

I do hate the upload limitation. Pics...

What upload limitations?  Those have been gone for quite awhile now.  The site will automatically scale images to something smaller.

Congrats to Patrick and the other winners.  Sorry I couldn't make this one.  Looks like I missed a good time.

Limitation on the number of pics that can be uploaded with each message. Previous software version allowed for 10. More would be better.

PS, just a word of advice:  If you store your kayaks outside, and let your g/f borrow one?  Make sure to hose it out to make sure there are no earwigs that might crawl out once you, her, and them, are out on the Bay.
