It was a great day on the water. We launched around 7:30 am and fished till 1:30 or so. We ended up with 15 dungeness crab 2 lincod and 25 rock fish. My brother had 6 legal lings up to the boat and he couldnt get the job done :smt013..... " @#$%^&* unreal" he said. He had about a 15 pound ling by the gills and was hootin and yeallin :smt044. About that time I was about to say "you might want to beat that thing over the head" the ling squirms and he lost his grip and it bounced off the yak and back into the deep blue  :smt011..... so sad. We are taking landing nets next time for sure, lesson learned :smt044

Gaffs are better. a fish can be to big for a net... not a gaff :P well less likely to be to big for a gaff haha

Nice! I'm going in a few weeks. Between this and the Caspar reports, it should be a good trip. (weather permitting)

Did you soak crab traps while fishing?

Yes get a net, a big net. A feisty ling can come off a gaff also. Believe it.
