Hey all,

Just wanted to remind all you Hobie yakkers to check the rudder lines at the rudder.  I was out at Capitola a couple of weeks ago and lost all my rudder control!  It was startin to get snotty so I pulled up the rudder and used my paddle to steer.  Upon inspection I found the left control line had completely come off the rudder...easy fix tho, just something to keep in mind.

I'm heading to MBK co. Sunday to take the all day safety and surf entry class, plus they said I can use a yak after to fish :smt003.  I'll report here my experiences at the class.

Be safe y'all!

Thanks for the heads up  :smt002
I will keep an eye on my Revo's lines.
I wonder if the spectra lines (once broken) could be replaced with coated stainless steel cables like on bikes?
Might made a nice upgrade :smt001

True.... and if you own a Hobie Adventure, you'll discover that it's capable a paddling faster than a lot of similar size paddle yaks.

Make sure that the rudder guides inside the kayak haven't come loose from their clamps which screw to the inside of the rear 8" hatch frame. That can cause some slack if they are loose. There are three lines on the left and one on the right. I zip-tied mine to the clamps so they can't fall down and cause slack.

No holds barred.... beotch!  I'm hoping for 20 knot winds, so I can unfurling my sail. :smt003

Not so fast Homie! This is a paddle race and I distinctly recall you saying the AI paddles as well as other kayaks in its class. :smt003 hehe No sails/ no peddles. Just paddles. :smt006 Sorry for the threadjack.
