I  have created a local fishing spot map info for the Monterey area, I have included the fishing spots that I have been told about and saved the map, if you download Google maps and use the saved ref info that is attached you can add and post more information I  hope that people will add launch points and fishing locations to the system

Thanks for posting this, looks great. I moved it over here since it will most like get buried in the fishing reports section.

Very nice and it's a great idea to add other launch and fishing locations along the coast.

Thanks.

This is pretty cool stuff.  I have been messing around with similar applications for Google Earth at work.  Unfortunately, it has not been to display off my launch sites and fishing locations.  Creating files like this may be useful as a communication tool with each other and also with the public.  There is a document somewhere, which I can not find at this partucular moment, that describes many of the kayak launch sites in the state.  It might be cool to have a link like this to each launch site to get a cool view.

To use, go to: http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html
Download Google Earth and install it.
Download the *.kmz file and unzip it.
Simply double click on "doc.kml" and the file shouold open up Google Earth and zoom in to the correct spot.

Thanks to eadint for posting this.

Later, Sean

These have been posted before but are always handy.  The first is the coastline images.  The second is just the sites along the coast that one might conceivably launch or land a kayak from.  Some of the sites are quite a stretch.
