Went to Lower Blue Lake in Alpine County yesterday, got on the water at 8:30 am (I was in no hurry).  While I was setting up the yak I heard someone talking nearby and saw a guy on a small aluminum boat talking to something in his boat, they were too far away to make out what he was talking to so I got some binoculars and saw he had a big mixed breed dog and an adult rooster sitting on his bow!  I heard him say to his rooster and dog "Hey!  Did you guys see that?!" while he was pointing to the water.  I tried to get close enough to get a picture of his "crew" while on the water but never could get close enough.  I did manage to get a picture of the rooster when the guy put the rooster on shore for a pit break.  The guy also had a full head of red hair styled in the white man's afro style.  later when I trolled by his camp I noticed the red hair was a wig in a stryofoam wig holder sitting on his bow, I guess a hat would have been too "normal" for him?  I could hear this guy talking loudly on the water but could not make out what he was saying.  Several times I saw him on the shore waving his arms around and talking to himself.  I don't think his elevator went to the top floor, and he was a few sandwhiches short of a picnic.  When I left I did not make eye contact.
the weather was gorgeous with ambient temps in the low eighties by afternoon.  water temp was in the low 50's when I arrived, when I left it was mid 50's.  The bite was off the hook!  I caught and released 25 and had at least that many or more strikes that did not stick.  All were rainbows 12 to 14", no browns or brookies like last spring.  What a great day on the water!  water level is down, had to drive down in the mud to launch.  did not take any fish pictures, I forgot the adaptor to use the GoPro on the yak.   :smt013  I also forgot to take a paddle with me on my Hobie Pro Angler and had to find a stick to push off from the shore.

Thanks for the report and pics, all fishermen talk to themselves (don't we?).  The dog and the rooster..............well just maybe the captive audience.

A rooster you say!!

Sounds like an entertaining and successful trip.  A trippy trip so to speak.

yea, maybe it is the lack of oxygen at those higher altitudes?   :smt005
I expected banjo music and a sqawking chicken any minute when the "Chicken man" was on the shore............   :smt003
