An unfortunate decision, but not a difficult one to make; zingthing has been banned.
As moderators we discussed this in great and lengthy detail and our decision is based on what is best for the group collectively, not one individual.
In circumstances like the ones that occurred at GS6 the possible outcomes of the events that took place were analyzed and the decision to remove all real threats to preserve predictable order was made.
As a community we do not tolerate personal attacks on the forum. By extension; physical attacks on community members are also not tolerated.
Decisions like this are extremely unpleasant and it’s not something we take lightly. We advocate for keeping people but lines were crossed from which there was no return.
We do wish zingthing the best of luck and hopefully he will seek whatever is necessary so things like this do not happen to him in the future.
It’s time to move on, have some fun and catch some fish.

I don't envy you mods the tough decisions you have to make.

Thank you for doing what you all felt was best for the good of the community.

It’s time to move on, have some fun and catch some fish.

+1

Sincerely,

Jim

I really hope that Anthony can use this to better himself and possibly get back on board at some time in the future. Every time someone gets behind the wheel after drinking they put others in harms way. Anyone here ever done that? Its a fucked up situation but hopefully good will come of it. Through humiliation and consequence a man can change.

I bet it was a hard decision to make.

I do think I will take a lesson away from this incident.  I feel we should never put another person in any kind of danger.  I think this should include drinking to much and picking fights or putting yourself in a position where you need to rescued as a result of your stupidity of lack of experience.  I do think of us as a team or brotherhood.  If your not working with us...................

I do wish him the best.  Maybe this will be the spark he needs to get on the right track.

I would like to say good job to the mods, but its a shitty thing to have to do. A necessary evil if you will.

I have been banned from another fishing forum (Fish Sniffer). I politely corrected someones grammar to which I got an "infraction." I then told the moderator 'Somg Guy' that I accept the infraction however I did not agree with it. I was then immediately banned.

I have discussed it with MontanaN8V who is/was a moderator there. In my opinion it was a BS reason to be banned, and the way it happened was disgusting to say the least.

I bring that up because it is good to know that the moderators here have more integrity then mods of other forums I have been or am on.

Thank you, NCKA mods for taking on a tough task.  Hopefully zingthing can commit to making some changes in his life.

In the end we should all learn from this.  Namely, that we are a club of people who aim to have fun together in a safe and respectful manner - at all times.

Really tough decision mods. had to make.
Being held responsible for your actions and choices is the right way to be treated.
As a side note if anyone happens to fish with Anthony . I did spend part of the day at ARW (Yakhoppers ) tourn. with him. When my son dropped pieces of his reel overboard Anthony was quick to loan him another set up.

Thanks to all the mods for resolving this, I am sure it was not an easy decison to be made. We all have enough time to change our ways and ask forgiveness, so who knows what the future holds, but the NCKA community will still be here.

I commend the moderators for their decision.  Belonging to this group is a privilege and carries responsibilities just like all privileges.  While it is very unfortunate, there were many bad choices made by this individual.  Putting one's self at risk of harm based upon reckless behavior is one thing.  Putting other's at risk, as was done in this situation, is an entirely different situation.  This is far too great a group of people to be placed at this kind of risk.  We all know our sport is not without danger and risk but managing those risks is a part of our responsibility as members.  I don't know Anthony but I do wish him well.  I'm thankful that our friend Sonny came out of this with only lost gear.  Sonny is a guy who exemplifies the kind of behavior and responsibility NCKA is all about.

Not that my opinion really matters but I totally back the mods decision to do this for the good of the community. I was personally going back and forth in my mind as to what was the right thing to do and I agree that this was the best resolution for everyone involved.

Best of luck to zing in all his future endeavors be it fishing or just being a productive member of society.

We are a pretty laid back group of folks and I don't hear about people getting banned very often. Sometimes it's best even if it's not easy.

Thank you to the Mod staff for everything that you do.

I think you mods are all messed up! Dont apologize for doing it! That only adds to the pussification of America. At some point, we will become so bad, that a track meet is just that. Let's meet on the track, all of us, run if you can, walk if you must, we will all cross the line as winners! YEAH!! In ten years, on that screwed up antique show, people will be like, 'what is this strip of blue fabric?" that is a first place ribbon, virtually worthless, it was once given as a grand gesture of significant individual achievement!

ban him, cast out, reel, cast out, reel. repeat.... Life is good.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.
