Word is that soon Bonny Doon will have complete cell coverage though, so I'll probably get one this year and drop the landline.

You could get one and use it like my wife does. The call ID is blocked and she gives the number to nobody.  Outgoing calls only.  She doesn't even answer it if someone calls and the voicemail box is not activated.  It a one-way IPhone.  It's kind of like the "old" days when nobody could reach you if you weren't home.  Some would say that was a better time.
