It must be terribly hard to loose such a great companion.  All of our pets are geriatric and I fear the day I have to face what you are feeling right now.   Those memories will NEVER fade and I'm sure he will always be in your heart.

Red had it waaaay good, traveled the world, looking for a snack, trying to get wet, most better than some humans i know.
He will be missed forever.

I have a mental picture of Red Dog up in doggie heaven sitting around a table telling all the other dogs about all the great adventures he had with his owner and his extended kayak brothers......I see all the fluffy cute dogs saying "Man, what a great life, I wish I was Red Dog!"

We have not met Allen but, just lost my best friend last October and still have him on my desktop picture (Can't seem to let em go all the way yet).  I know you have good memories and I feel for your loss.
"We are better off to have had them in our lives and go through the loss than never to have known the companionship at all"  That's what my wife keeps tellin me anyway.
