Likely bombing up on Friday and coming back sunday if anybody is in for a crazy ride.  Maybe Thursday but can't commit to that right now.

We are very luck to have my brother's vacation home in Lincoln City, about 15 minutes from Depoe Bay.  That's where the three of us will be spending the week.  The "deal" was just too good to pass up!

Remember to get an Oregon fishing license for the day. Hopefully, it won't cost an arm and a leg for out of staters.

You can get your Oregon fishing license at the Chinook Bend check-in office (big red barn) if you are staying at the campground. I think it only took a few minutes and the price wasn't too bad for the two day license last year.

You guys will have a great time, the NWKA guys were very welcoming to the "freaken Californians" (a few already new our names) and they offered a lot of good fishing advice on the area. I was only about 40 yards away from last years winner when he picked that 19# cab. It could have been me! It could be one of you!

Also bring an air horn and safety flag. That area has a lot of boat traffic and having a flag last year really felt pretty good.

The trip from the marina to the ocean is a cool passage, you guys are going to have a great time. Envious as hell. Good luck!

You also need an invasive species permit, so don't forget that.

A safety flag is required.  An air horn is pretty much required as is a radio, per group, entering and exiting the harbor.  There is a whole protocol as it is a blind corner.

There's a Bi-Mart in Lincoln City, near where we're staying.  As I recall from past Oregon non-yak fishing trips, they have a pretty good sporting goods selection and all licenses and permits.  We will stop there Thursday if we arrive early enough.

I'll pick-up an air horn to comply with the regs.  Got the safety flag already.  Thanks for the local info guys.

Surprisingly, the New Port Fred Meyer has a really good selection of jigs, jig heads, and plastics (fish Traps, and single and double curly tails).

You can also pic up your Oregon Fishing licenses there.
