Today's Times Standard reported lots of nice salmon caught near the Whistle this week including a couple 30's and a 34.  Get 'em.   :smt001

Hope to see you there! I am not sure if I can make it, but I am working on it.

I wish that it was that easy for me. Then I would be there no questions asked.

Salmon to 34 lbs! Damn I gotta at least try right. I don't have any salmon tackle, is there a good shop in Eureka I can pick some up? Would Brown's in Garberville have any? I'm guessing a deep six with a flasher and bait is all I really need. What kind of flashers are best?

We will be rolling in late Friday night. Looks like a minus tide at 7:23 am, might be a good time to rock pick some abs! then catch the incoming tide for fishing.

I'm down to search the tidepools, you coming?

fl - a DeepSix, flasher and straight bait is my favorite setup, but they're doing well on a WMA all by itself behind the DS too.  A trolled banana weight and mooching rig or WMA or Brad's Super Cutplug will get it done too.

Good luck.   :smt001

My plan is for my daughter, BigGabe and I to get there late Friday night, suit up and hit tidepools early, then go out and hit  the drifts for salmon/rockies/halibut/crab/memories.

Latest NWS forecast:

.SAT...NW WIND 10 TO 20 KT. COMBINED SEAS 8 TO 10 FT. PATCHY FOG.  .SAT NIGHT...NW WIND 10 TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 2 TO 4 FT. NW SWELL 4 TO 6 FT. PATCHY FOG.
.SUN...NW WIND 5 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 1 TO 3 FT. NW SWELL 3 TO 5 FT.
.MON...NW WIND 10 TO 20 KT. COMBINED SEAS 5 TO 7 FT...BUILDING TO 8 TO 10 FT.

Looks like Sunday is the day to focus on, and both Saturday and Monday have potential, but I'd say it's 50/50 with a forecast like that (10-20 knots/seas 8 to10')...

Be ready!   :smt001
