it looked like a fantastic day outside so i decided i would head to psl for some spearfishing. i got to the water and a bunch of people watched me load up solo asking questions. a bunch of people told me i was crazy for swimming out there alone but i was hungry. the water looked fairly clear for psl. i got to my spot and threw down my anchor. loaded up and hopped in.  the vis was a solid 5-10 feet which is amazing for psl. i got in the water so pumped up then realized i forgot to put on my weight belt. dumb mistake but i decided to dive down once and see a kelpy under a rocky ledge. bam got him head to the yak but him in the bag grab my belt and head back out. drop back down see another kelpy and blam in the bag. i swam around not seeing any other rockys so i decide to head towards the kelp and surf grass to look for striped surf perch. oh i found plenty it was pretty much a slaughter fest. i was going to get a limit but i got hit by a nice wave against a rock and shredded my hands pretty good because i forgot my gloves. shot two more perch for a total of 7 perch and two kelpys. all in all a fantastic day on the water.

oh also right before launching to head out i am zipping up my wet suit and  it rips the seam next to the zipper. now a good portion of my back is showing so i say screw it and head out. after i got home my back was itchy and i look in the mirror and i have a huge triangle shaped sun burn.

i have to type up my adventure at refugio later some cool stuff happened

From right to left:
Rainbow perch (Hypsurus caryi)

Next five in the middle are Striped Perch (Embiotoca lateralis) with color variations.

The one on the far left next to the two kelpies is a Black Perch (Embiotoca jacksoni).

By the way, what is PSL? Port San Luis?
