If your in the East bay, Contra Costa County, The bait shop that we buy our Grass Shrimp from BS Bait, in Bay Point, is totally geared towards Sturgeon. They have some nets in there that are HUGE! I think I'll pick one up, trust me, I won't be outgunned with one of these. If they are meant to net a sturgeon, then they should be able to handle anything else I'd be lucky enough to catch.

this net broke on me while trying to net a medium sized catfish

here's what I use....

I also added a foam on the handle for floatation. Compact yet strong enough to handle a salmon.

Jason, my first one broke too, I returned it to Hook1 and they replaced it - I believe Promar modified it and made it better and stronger cause I never had a problem with it. It handled a 25 and a 27 pound salmon with no problems at all. Oh.....and this WSB too  :smt002
