Came home today to find this inmy backyard.
I think she wanted to play horse shoes.
I know there's a Tom nearby.
Just wonder if I can nail it from the bar.  :smt044

I'd play a game of 'Cluck Cluck... BANG ! '  with the Tom   :smt003

I've got a flock of 7-8 that fly over Bodega Ave... walk up my road to about a quarter mile of my house...
I guess that have never heard of Cluck Cluck Bang before... they wont come up the rest of the way..
That or I dont sound sexy enough.. :smt001

Put that bow to good use!

I take my toms every year off my back deck too.  They are lean and a little dry, but if you take a 5 gallon bucket, soak the bird in a salt/sugar cure brine for 3 days, then wrap in cheese cloth, smoke for 4 hours at 225,  they come out just as moist and tender as anything I've ever had.

We have had ton of turkeys start to show up in the last few years.  I think they do well around my horses.  They seem to enjoy going through to poop looking for bugs and picking up spilled grain.  Sometimes I sit in the truck and do paperwork in the morning before hitting the road.  This time while I sat there working, they came right around me.  One was 6ft outside my window.

They're in my back yard all the time.  My wife feeds them.  I'm pretty sure you can't shoot them in Danville anyway.

But can you trap them?  :smt003

VA Livermore is like a damn petting zoo.  Deer in broad daylight mossy around, turkeys and if you don't pay attention rattlesnakes and mountain lions come up to the hospital.  rumors are one nurse went to take a smoke break and there was ML just outside the door, just as startled to see her as she was it.  VA Cops say they see them fairly commonly and give them a safe distance.  I have seen some nice 6x6 deer up there plain as can be on the lawn.  turkey's will come right up to you.  Only one problem, federal land=Federal time.
