Just trying to figure out how to edit the video, and realized the best part of the mounting position is that the FF blocks the infamous crotch shot that everyone seems to enjoy :smt044
I'll post a short clip when I figure it out.

I see what you mean about the finder blocking the camera view, it would be sweet if the mount was telescoping or had an extender arm so you could raise it up or swing it side to side :smt002

Hey Eric, looking at the pics on the OK site for the 4.3 - it looks like there are two padded eyelets in the tankwell under where most people would place a plano box.

Could you shed some light on this?  Seems a bit odd to put rivets where water would be moving/draining.

Thank you.   :smt001

Been usisng that cleaner myself for a long time in the Man Cave (GF's name for my place).  Cheap and works well on cleaning the kitchen up after making sausage or butchering/cleaning something.  BTW nice boat, how is it to pick and lug around?

Almost bought a 4.3 but went with a T13 as its my first yak ever and the ultra cost was somewhat prohibitive for an initial intro toyak fishing.  But this thread has me seriously drooling, liking the looksof the deck layout.

Really never thought id love kayak fiahing as much as i do.  Thanks for the porn!

What is difference between the 4.7 and 4.3 when it comes to leg room? I ask because Kat can not reach the foot pegs in the 4.7 so we were thinking about getting her a 4.3, assuming her feet will reach.

Sadly no Clear lake for us I have to do Army stuff and Kat is pregnant.

Well Ryan,
I didn't want to let the Kat out of the bag, but since you just did ... Congratulations to both of you.

I think the 4.3 would probably fit her well, as I am reaching the end of the foot wells.
When you get a chance, and we are both at the same event (poss. GS) we can have her sit in it and see how she fits. No hurry, as she will probably not see the water from a kayak for at least 7 - 9 months now.

Actually Fuzz,
Those pad eyes are held in with bolts, like all the rigging from the factory. They can be removed without compromise to the hull thanks to the threaded inserts. However if you don't want to use the crate, this is a great place to attach a leash for a game clip.

Thanks Eric,   I now have Yak Envy ...    :smt007        Beautiful lines on that model.
Nice rigging job.   I never did like all those ropes and bungees up around the bow section either.   Nothing but a hook magnet.

Good to have if and when you are unable to self rescue and need something to hang on to.

I have to agree with you Mooch.
I thought long and hard about this mod,
It occured to me that every time I jumped out to practice a self rescue, I noticed that the yak would get blown away nose first. This may be due to the fact that all my gear is stowed in the rear tank, or the fact that the bow is higher and catches more wind. Either way, it was obvious that I was always grabbing the rear of the yak .... So I decided to keep the rear ropes, and forgo the front. This may become a issue in the future, but in the past 8 years, I have never had to grab the front as it was being blown away. If even once, I would have had to chase the yak being blown away tail first, I might think differently. As for the calm days, I believe, I could grab the tak much easier and the ropes would not be as necessary. Another reason to always paddle with a buddy I guess.

The deck and bow lines are definitely good to have. I installed a deck bungee in the early days on my P-15 to secure my rods whenever I was fishing the jungles (fishing under trees and overhangs). It also served as a paddle holder and a place to secure a small dry bag (for my camera, snacks and drinks).

Just have to be careful with those big Monterey water rats that like to steal and chew things :smt003

That's what I was kinda wondering - if they were thru-hull normal rivets or threaded into inserts.  :)
