Any one else interested in going? planning on getting on the water some where around 8. I think I saw Hamachi John was going here this day too, looking forward to meeting some fellow NCKAers.

I plan on going and paddleing either north or south a ways, so i can find some shallower abs, My GF loves to eat abs and wanted to try diving for them, she's been along, watched me dive before, and she was on the swim team, so were going to rent her a mask/fins/wetsuit and  we will see how well this goes... definatly going to be marking them for her with my float line.

Any advice on north vs south, to find some shallower abs?

also I have some promar crab/lobster traps, think it is worth dragging those along?

Ill join you! I know a good spot like alameda said in 15 ft but its north side of the cove. No experience salmon fishing but I have speared some nice fish there so bring your gun if you got one and take some rockfish home.

Hmmmmm, take a look at the ab closure due to the red tides last year. There is a map on line that covers all the coast from reef campground to north of FT Ross. Pretty sure it includes Timber Cove too.

Timber cove is not part of the closure fort ross is the northern boundary of the closure. Timber Cove is the start of the open dive zone.

well I was planning on grabing a pole spear, and trying to spear some rock fish, but my GF had a family thing come up. I have a buddy that wants to go try for salmon, but he does not dive, so i'll probably just grab a fast limit, and we'll troll around for an few hours.

I'd like to join. I know there was a hook-up posted a while back for this weekend in this area, so I don't know who's going where. Either way, I'd love to join in on both some shallow water ab diving and maybe some spearing too. I'm new to both so I would be awesome to be around people that new the ropes.
