So, what are we taking these guys fishing for?  Targeting Bass?  Trout?  Catfish?

I believe they have spotted bass, large mouth, small mouth and trout. Purple Senko's is one of the favorite baits along with watermelon. The power bait worms also work. With the temp picking up it should be okay for the bass bait. Auburntroutdude said that trolling for trout is a good idea along or near the dam.
I just got the day off. So if you still need some help I would be glad to participate. I have two tandems and one Hobie revo, also have a couple off sit ins if needed. I don't live far from Natomas if someone needs a place to stay.

John, We have 40 kayaks there at the lake so no worries on anymore Kayaks. Just bring yourself and your personal stuff. We'll hook you up with a vet to take out.

We have been told that their will only be 16 vets now instead of 40. Much more manageable. The VFW will still be feeding us and the Vets for lunch.

Those who have not given me their t-shirt sizes please let me know ASAP. Thanks Frank

I PM'd you with my size Frank. I will be needing the info and time where we are going to meet at Natomas so I can plug the location into "Tripsy." She'll get me lost anyway.

Is that center joined to the boat launch ramp?  I have a PA on a trailer and I'm feeble enough to need to launch, not carry.

From google-earth it looks like the ramp is via the pay station and across the lagoon from the aquatic center.

Paperwork....  Ugg  :shaking:

One of these days I will actually take a vet out fishing....  and yes I would like some cheese with that whine....

Anyhoo...

All volunteers need to sign the papers!!!

we have a total of 4 for this one...

2 for the Aquatic center and the usual 2 for HOW, it's a release and media release so your picture can be taken... if you do not want a picture taken, see Frank for a pretty wrist band...

If ya can, print these out prior to arrival and give to Frank or Dianne when ya arrive. It will make things roll a little smoother for the morning... there will be more waivers at the event if you can not get this done prior to arrival or forget them..

Frank, be sure to have extra copies available if have not already....

Thanks again for everyone stepping up on this one, looks like it's going to be fun and Really wish I was going to be there....

I'm pretty amped up about Friday spending some time with these guys and meeting a few of the NCKA folks too.  I just hope I don't disappoint the guys I get to fish with; been having a bit of a dry spell fishing-wise, I hope I don't jinx any of them!

Catching a fish is a bonus.  Getting a vet on the water, letting them experience
a peaceful kayak ride is the real prize.  It is amazing what a kayak ride does to
the vets.  You'll see.

Not trying to thread jack, but I am going up tomorrow night with the only Joel aka Mooch.  I will drop him off with Frank, I will be staying at the Red Roof in in Rancho Corova.  Anyone needing a place to stay I booked a double so I have an extra bed if you need a place to crash Thursday night.
