With the recent rains it seems the steelies have been able to make it up the river and are spawning directly below our house in Boulder Creek!   :smt007  Sorry for the cheesy music but it seemed appropriate  :smt044

Ugh, may have to try some different video output settings and re-upload. Not as happy with the quality as I would like.  Probably better if you viewed it on the website.

Hell yes, love it!  That's so cool that you get to see steelhead from your backyard.  That dominant male sure was pissed at that smaller male!

Watching this video was exactly the break I needed from writing this Biological Assessment.  Thanks man!

It's funny, cause since we moved to this house we hadn't seen a single fish in our part of the river, unlike our last house where I would watch the baby steelies every day.  As of yesterday, i'm happier than ever that we live where we do now  :smt003

Edit: Forgot to mention, we also spotted several smaller fish hounding the newlyweds  :smt044  Which like I said, we hadn't seen a single fish in our area (not for lack of looking) until this rain came through.  Very cool to see the fish returning!  :smt002

Since your in the valley, i'd try going to the Covered Bridge park in Felton: http://www.scparks.com/felton.html  It's just down the way from McD's  :smt044

Covered bridge is a very well known place to score heroin/meth/coke...

I have nothing against folks self medicating, but there are some bad dudes in that scene so just be careful.

I might have Steelies in my creek!  (Gold Creek) up in Felton, Although my portion of the creek is mostly sand & rocks, very little gravel, and no gold, (Panned several spots for nada) it is running really good now.I've seen fish in it in the past.

  Al, thanks for the video!

LOL, i've not been there much, but we have taken Quinn there to play.  There are several pullouts on the lower part of HWY 9 that are great spots to view the river.  Just look for pullouts along the roadway.  Of course, there could be bums there too  :smt044
