Thanks for the bump Al and thanks for sharing Scott.  I'll try this soon at Shadow Cliffs.

Thanks for the info.  Good stuff.  For my #1 fishing buddy and myself, our go-to lure (for trout) for some time now has been a Kastmaster in the Pink/White/Blue Stripe combo.  Without question, the sweetest thing is the versatility that you described.  I've tried the the single hook/worm mod before, but that was before getting serious. Definitely going to give it another crack.  Not telling fishing buddy either - at least for a while.

The eye on the blue and silver looks like a good threadfin shad imitation. I always use single hooks also. They hold much better than trebles.

Great looking mods there. I'd like to tell you of one I was shown several years ago.
Remove the hooks from your Kastmaster, tie an 18-24" leader off the back, then tie a nymph (your choice) on. The Kastmaster acts as a flasher to attract the fish. It also casts a country mile so you can cover lots of water with this rig.
Vary your retrieve. Count down to achieve the correct depth. Give it a try. You'll like the results.

Great information and write up! I''m guessing the change of hooks adds better action? I have done this with krocs, but never thought about doing it with kastmasters. The eye and reflective tape are excellent mods as well. I think I'll add these to my krocs and kastmasters.

Seeing that you have made these mods have you or anyone added horse hair or single siwash bucktail to their lures?

Thanks agian!
