Hopefully, the last tournament of the year.  While the RTM boats are making a big splash on their own, it's time to fire things up.  We are awarding 4 RTM fishing kayaks for 1st-4th place winners of the Fall Classic.  Abaco, K Largo, Tempo and KEO.
World renowned Chef "Gerard" from Occidental will be serving up a seafood paella Friday night and we'll host a "Trencherman's Feast" of surf and turf plus a lot more Saturday night after the awards ceremony, included in the tournament fee.  The Fall Classic will benefit Sportfishing Association of California (SAC) with a direct donation.  The tournament fee for this one is $65.00 that includes the dinners and a tournament tee shirt.  The higher tournament fee reflects expenses and paying for prizes.  There will also be a "Sunday Brunch Cook-Off" with a hundred bucks or a hundred year old dutch-oven for the best dish, winners choice.
This will be the fourth Kayakfishing.com tournament since 1998.  It should prove to be a doozy and we hope to see all of you at Ocean Cove.
A tournament page with details and rules will be published later this week at Kayakfishing.com, I'll post when it does.

Is there a deadline to sign up, or a maximum # that can attend?  I'll be down for this if its not the same time as RBC3.  Or maybe if they are close together, i'lll spend a week at OC  :smt044

I forgot to mention that there will be a big raffle and we will be warming up for this event with Bloodbath's Red Barn tourny (moving to Ocean Cove) on October 6th.  I don't expect we'll need to make a ceiling for entry but if we get a lot of people, we'll want to spread out along the coast to minimize the impact.  I think with so many popular launches like Ft Ross and TC, that should work itself out.  We'll be keeping an eye as registrations climb.  If we get a really high turnout, we'll add more boat prizes too.  There will be a cut-off date for registration.
Thanks All!

Halloween
We tossed around trick or treating (camp raiding) if enough kids are in attendance.  We also have a  kids food buffet for the dinners.  We're working all the details forward and will make info available at the tournament page.  Thanks and keep the input coming.  This is going to be a really fun time.

You guys are getting me excited and I appreciate the early feedback, thanks.
AlsHobieOutback got me thinking about the size of the event.  If The Fall Classic goes much over 100 registrations, we'll consider a few options to minimize the impact, including a cut-off number.  The "Tournament Rulers For Weigh-In" address that the take and will be detailed soon (the computer w/the tournament files are at the doctor in Mohave w/a virus so I have to re-write them from scratch).  It's OK to put that many people in a halibut derby or yellowtail tournament, not SWRF though.  Especially since MLPA and MPAs now limit access, adding pressure to remaining fishing areas and increasing risk of overfishing to open areas.  That said, closing the remaining open areas in California will be easier for the preservationist politicos than it will be for us to keep them open. Write/call your State reps.
