Everyone knows that Yorty is car top only, right?

Unless something has changed since the last time I was there.

Have DFG permits been obtained for this event? Just curious. Dustin, I do think that Yorty is still car top only. Its a great place to fish though.

How close is the nearest camping to yorty? Not really interested in boat in this time. Also don't want to make the 2.5-3 hour drive in the morning.

Yeah, I've only been there once, but it was a great paddle with great scenery.

I wouldn't want someone to show up with their trailer or something and get turned away. I didn't read the tourney registration, but these are the type of things that MUST be communicated to participants.

nearest camping maybe 5miles or so, theres a koa in cloverdale on the east side of the river

Is the launch for the tourney anywhere on the lake? Where is the weigh/check-in going to be at. Sorry if I missed that info.
I think everything is being held at the private marina area. (Lake sonoma resort). Its posted on the regs
yeah thats the way i read it

Cam is right. Some gnarly hairpin uphill turns that really suck when its wet which it probably won't be. There is also a private campground on the east side of the river on the north end of town.

These are the confirmed attendees so far. If you need a teammate, we will hook you up with one. Just mention it on the sign-up form.

****We will launch from the Yorty Creek Boat Launch. There is a picnic area there too. If you are not camping, you will need to pick up a day use permit at the launch. You will take the Hot Springs Rd exit from Highway 101. It’s just south of Cloverdale.  There are campgrounds that we will be staying at Friday and Saturday night. You can only paddle to them from the Yorty Creek Boat Launch. It’s a short paddle. The two areas where you can camp are Rustlers Primitive Campground and Loggers Primitive Campground. Rustlers would be the preferred spot. You can make your camping reservations at recreation.gov site. I booked two camp sites already. People can crash at one of my two sites if need, just let me know. After the tournament, we are going to have a big fish fry for dinner either at picnic area or campsite. I will keep you updated.****

It's going to be a great time. We will have nice size prize packages for 1st - 3rd place teams. The odds are looking good so far! Thank you to all the people that are participating in the first of many Sonoma Slams! Looking forward to meeting everyone and for the out of towners...Welcome to Sonoma County!

for people day tripping and hanging out after the tourney, the gate closes at 7pm, hopefully they will be doing some landscaping, picnic grounds are overgrown at the moment, also no water here bring what you need for the day and cooking for pot luck, cameron

ps. gate also opens at 7am

I talked with Nicole, Park Ranger, yesterday and she said they are going to keep the gate unlocked for us. Good news!

Does that mean no Live bait ?

FYI, despite what the sign says the gate into Yorty won't be closed. They have to leave it open in case anyone that is boat-in camping has an emergency and has to leave in the middle of the night.

Dustin, Craig, Cam, you guys gonna come out and fish? I bet somebody's gonna catch a toad!  :smt007
