Thanks Scott but I can't confirm yet cause I already talked to my buddy and he's trying to get the time off work. You're gonna get the crappie & trout? Now that's confidence! jim

I might like to try this tourney since it is my backyard, but I don't have a partner. (neighbor sold his T13 last month :smt009)

The trout in the lake are not stocked (and never will be), they are ALL natives, decendents of the steelhead that were trapped upstream when the dam was built.....the DFG regs treat them as a special case, 2 fish limit if you aren't C&R. They still have the form, color and fight of a true steelhead, so bring your "A" game. A number of 3-5 lbers, at least one 8 lbs C&Red last year (by Troutwagon Guide Service).
Sonoma Slam 2012 3rd place + big fish

Agreed, LS is a CNR fishery for all species including trout/steelhead even for a dedicated meat hunter like me.  :smt005 :smt005 :smt005 As far as bringing your "A" game, there are lot's of world class anglers in this group so you don't have to worry that there will be serious competition at any NCKA tourney and historically local knowledge has not been a major factor in the tournament rankings. Good luck and hope to see you out there.

Nice fish CC the Lake was planted the first few years

Quote
Plants of steelhead from the Warm Springs Hatchery from 1981 to 1985 bolstered the wild trout population, but the lake hasn't been stocked with any salmonids since. The DFG fish pathologists stopped plants so that potentially diseased fish released into the lake wouldn't spread infection in the hatchery, since the lake is the hatchery's water source.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
