Went out with Chuck at 8AM - I trolled the cove across the launch with my "secret lure" - the risto rapala - the discontined model :smt011. I caught and released 4 pan sized trout and got a couple of Large mouth bass to bite as well (C&R). Chuck caught and released a 17 inch LMB with a fly-lined nightcrawler (he'll chime in). We cruised over to the narrows (the turtles were every where) and Chuck got another LMB on a senko. Trolled some more to no avail - got out by 2PM. A very nice day! Water visibily was very clear - we saw many LMB cruising around 5 to 8 ft. of water but most of 'em ignored our offerings  :smt013 But there's never a dull moment when catching fish with ultra light gear  :smt002

We also met a fella who just recently bought a yellow Cobra Marauder from Sean/Scwafish - he was trolling around - not sure if he scored any.

Pics to follow....

Thanks to the Mooch for give me his personal tour of the Stevens Creek Reservoir.  :notworthy:

Mooch's discontinued risto Rapala is unbelievably deadly.   I trolled Shad Raps and everything else that typically works for trout and bass, but nothing caught fish like Mooch's "secret lure".
I was tempted to mug and steal it from him. :smt075

It was so cool to see bass spawning.  The LMB in the photo made my day.  I saw it near a submerged brush pile and noticed it wouldn't leave.  So, I tried tempting with a Senko and other artificials, but nothing worked.  The bass would come up to the lures for closer look, but it wouldn't bite.  I finally got a little frustrated and called the Mooch over to give it a try.  Still, nothing worked until I offered up a live nightcrawler.  The first one got munched in half.  So, I threw out a second one.  When the bass finally gulped it down ...the game was on!

fine work boys.  But ChuckE, I'd like to humbly request you see savage for issues of a sartorial nature.

hotpants are not okay as shorts.   at least not on a gnarly asian dude like yourself.

on a fine babe, okay, I can take it, in fact, I encourage it. see for instance, the james brown
song, regarding the chick who can do the funky chicken, all nite long.
(and on saturday, I saw some modelled to great effect on the launch ramp by some lucky
anglers partner practicing her ornamental skillz).

myself, while my legs have oft been admired, I modestly wear trousers.  :smt003
