Fish count = 0
Bird count = 1 (couldn't wait for Troy to unhook his shiner when we went in)

ChuckE, the guy at the bait shop said that the Red Bull lady wants to spring for some prizes for the tournament.  Give him a call and he'll fill you in on the details.

I arrived at the windsurfer launch at 6:30 and the water was way out.  There were about 10 ft of gnarly rocks exposed below the cement ramp and peak low tide was not for a couple of hours yet.

Troy pulled in at about 7:00 and after looking at the rocks he said that we could just launch from the boat ramp.  The guy at the shop didn't charge us and didn't make a big deal about it.

We decided to buy some bait instead of catching the extra large smelt we found last week.  For the bean counters, its $9.00 for a minimum of 6 shiners or $1.50 apiece.  The shiners were BITE SIZED and were still feisty even after we dragged them around all morning.  Troy's bait tube worked real well as opposed to my minnow bucket which weighed a ton and I had to keep flushing.

Weather wise it was a nice day, no breeze, no swells and it got down right hot when we came off the water.  A guy hanging around the bait shop mentioned that it was just the opposite from what it was yesterday (Sat).  However, there weren't many fish caught yesterday either.

So today was a good day to catch up on honey-dos and build the WAF points.  Troy and I had a good time hanging out and having a relaxing paddle.  No wind, no mud but no striper or butt love.

When we came off the water at noon the guy at the bait shop told Troy that there was only one butt caught so far today.  It was caught from a boat by the rockwall.  We were marking lots of bait fish and didn't see any seals today.  Hopefully the butts and stripers will move into the area in the near future.
