A few years ago my wife and I along with our Jack Russell Terrier stayed at cabin #1 at the Carson River Resort near Markleeville.  The cabin is a old miner's cabin that was moved to its present site at the resort many years ago.  The first night there very early in the morning my wife woke me out of a sound sleep saying "There is someone in here!"  Talk about coming wide awake with the hairs on the back of your neck standing up!  I had put heavy ice chests up against the doors that opened inward so that no one could have gotten in without making a lot of noise.  Our JRT had not alerted, he is an excellent watch dog.  After getting up and turning on all the lights and checking all the rooms I sat down and my wife told me that she was startled awake by an appearance of a man dressed in work clothes from the late 1800's/early 1900's.  She said the man had walked from the kitchen through the bedroom and into the bathroom and disappeared.  My wife will not stay at that resort again.

I really need my espresso beans out of my truck for the morning. I don't think I want to go out there at night after reading these stories.

My story isn't scary, but is supernatural.

About 3 years ago I was in bed sleeping.  In my dream, I was woke up when someone came into the bedroom from the door leading to the patio.  (I have a door leading outside from my bedroom)  It was light outside, but still morning, I'd guess around 9am or so.  The person was my mom, but my mom had died about 3 years earlier.  Mom looked good.  She was younger and so happy.  She was wearing a dress that a young woman might have worn in the 50's.  Like Beaver Cleaver's mother might have worn.  I sat up and said MOM!!  What are you doing here??!  She told me she didn't have a lot of time, but wanted to stop in and just say hi.  I asked her to stay.  She told me she has to go, she was going to go help get Bill.  She left and closed the door.  I woke up and it was 9am.  I looked at the door and while I knew this was a dream, it was so fresh and real.  I was happy, felt wonderful like only Mom can make you feel.  I didn't say anything to my wife, since it was just a happy dream and not too sure what it had meant.  Later that day I got a call from my dad.  His brother Bill had passed away this morning he told me.
At the funeral, I wanted to tell my cousins about the dream; that my Mom had come to help get my Uncle Bill, but I never did.  I did tell my wife though.

Growing up in New England, damn near every old field has a family cemetary that is a couple hundred years or more in it.  As kids the old Scituate (pronounned Sci-chu-ate, old native american name) Church is as close to being in Stphen King story as you can want. Some of htose headstones date back to the 1640's.  My mom's family can be traced back tot he late 1700's int hat town.  One time walking through the cemetray I saw people in tradional dress.  I asked my Grandmother what was the occasion when I got home?  She checked the paper and said there was no reason.  Mind you most of the town and some of the other villages in the area were all old mill towns and are now underwater when they built the Scituate Resivoir.

The other Cemetray in town has a family plot for my mom's family and it goes pretty far back.  It is proof I know my family was in the Civil War, WWI, WWII, and Vietnam, as veterans from all three lay there.

Shortly after my dad passed (8/4/09)  a few months later I awoke in the morning, with tears.  I had just had a dream and my dad came to the dreamland I was in, (Some room with dusty curtains) and we chatted, don't recall what we spoke about, but I clearly remember him grabbing a chair and sitting on it like he always used to do.

I called stepmother (ex I guess) and told her about the dream.  She told me she had a dream with him it as well the same night.

Wow, these stories of past relatives are the most moving of the bunch for sure!  None of my relatives were ever that involved in my life, so I doubt it will ever happen to myself. But very interesting tales!

Then night before my brothers funeral he visited me in a dream. Him my dad and myself all sat in the kitchen of a job site I was on. we talked for a few hours but I have no idea what we said. All I could remember was asking him " what happened?" With the look on his face that I've seen a thousand times when he "gets cheated" in a game he said " I don't want to talk about it. I asked him "did it hurt?" Again I got "I don't want to talk about it" I asked "what to do with his room and his truck" "I don't care". "What's heaven like?" He said " it's nice you can do whatever you want and you don't get in trouble".

Instantaneously I awoke from the dream feeling well rested with a renewed strength for the events that had to happen that day.

I know that we talked about a lot more but for whatever reason those few questions were all I was allowed to remember. It's one of those moments in life that changes the way you see the world. Though it was a dream, I consider that the last time I hung out with my brother.

I like to have fun.......

not Juju... The distance (veil) is very small (thin) between this and the afterlife... Normal for those close and paying attn. to contact/dream with others that passed on. We are greeted and Loved when we get there.... Some come and visit us in greater or lesser degrees. My Dad still visits my Mom and he's been gone 4 yrs... Still think I see him Around the farm when I'm working out there and helping my Mom. Glimpses, Smiling, Still my Pop.... Waiting for my Mom...
