Anyone have any ghost stories they'd like to share?

Here's mine:

(Early 80's) Me and my dad were at a small shooting range (50yards maybe) up in Scotts Valley, firing off some .22 cal rounds. There were 2 stack of hay bails, to hold targets set up left & right with about 6 feet of seperation. Behind the bails holding the paper targets, there was a path, or opening for bail maintenance. The bails were stacked in front of a hillside. Heavy brush & trees outside the range area.
As we were reloading the clips for the various pistols & rifles, we noticed a man walk across behind the bails, from right to left, He wore a black short brimed 1920's style hat, plaid, long sleeve shirt, chaki pants, and black ankle high boots. Tall and lanky, (Looked like 1920's depression era) with a pretty wide step or stride.
We yelled "People are here, range is in use" and ran down to see if the guy was still close by.
The path he was on, behind the bails, stoped 3 feet past the left bail. there was no path past the bail,no opening, no game trail, just a wall of brush, and hill side. No body was or had walked throught that in years!
The figure, never came out from behind the bails, couldn't go through the brush (Or didn't) The target area was clear, we had good visibility all around the front of the bails. We had no idea what or where he went, he was gone! So we packed up and left.   No there were no bodies laying dead from our .22 rounds behind the bails! We checked!  :smt044

I used to live in My grandfathers house in Wy. 5 miles of skiing from the end of the plowed road to a big beautiful house at the top of an aspen glade. Second winter i was there, by myself.
One night around midnight in the midst of a raging blizzard i found the house - because the porch light was on.
i was sure i had turned it off, as I was totally paranoid about burning the place down
Several months later in another nasty blizzard- with horribly deep drifts, i lost the trail, ended up having to follow the fall line straight up the hill- hoping to grid pattern to the house. Viz was about 30-50 feet. I was exhausted from breaking trail.  When i exited the aspen glade there was the house - not only the porch light on, but the picture window insulation was open, andthe interior lights were ablaze.
This happened two more times during that winter.
The second time, after i got inside, stoked the stove, and had a glass of wine. I said, "Grampy, I love you, but you don't have to worry about me."
I lived there two more winters and never had it happen again.

I was camping @ Samuel P Taylor about 22 years ago with a buddy of mine. We were both in the bathroom one brushing our teeth when we could hear a young boy wimpering inside one of the stalls. After it continued for a few minutes my friend Dennis asked the kid if he was okay or needed help.  He asked us to get his father who was back at camp and gave his site #. Dennis stayed at the restrooms while I went to get his dad, only I found the campsite empty. I went back to asked the kid if I had the right site, but he wouldn't answer, so we opened the stall and it was empty too. Dennis swears to this day that nobody came out of the restroom while I was gone.

That's spookie!

My possible ghost encounter happened about 10 years ago when my dad and I were in the Philippines visiting my dying grandfather at home.  We were alone with him at his bedside at 3AM when we both heard the unmistakeable noise of a creaking rocking chair in the next room.  My dad and I went to see who was there, and all we saw was my grandmother's favorite chair in dark corner of the room.  She had died about two years earlier.

There are many ghost stories from around my hood.  Many have heard of the Niles Canyon ghost, or witch, but fewer are aware of the number of human remains found just a couple miles away in Morrison Canyon, (which cuts thru the hills from Mission to Vargas Road at 680)...  several people murdered, several bodies dumped, just the ones I've read about.

We used to drive up and down Morrison Canyon at night with headlights off, looking for ghosts.  And many many times we walked up the Secret Sidewalk in Niles Canyon in pitch black darkness, hoping for adventure.  Never saw a damn thing. :smt001

Ahh Ghost Stories..love telling them on camping some are true some I fabricated from true to make them scarier..here's one

Back in early 2001 when the Litigation Support Vendor business was booming..we are working in the old building on the 2nd street and market..I heard from security guards from people use to work there about the place some spooky stories...I've seen things beyond explain, so its not new to me. so many time I had to work late and I noticed the between 1:45 - 2:00 AM any radio we are using gets static cant get any station nor able to play CD at first we thought its broken we replace 1 after another, still same issue, one night I was working by myself, the static started then I saw the office chair spun 360..got goosebumps I almost run but decided to keep my composures, until I rebooted my computer, as soon as my monitor closes I saw a man standing behind me on the reflection of my monitor knowing I'm the only person in the office look quick behind me nobody, look monitor again this time its staring at my neck...
Live today for tomorrow's sake.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

My friends and I were hunting in Wyoming and had rented a cabin.  There was an older cabin on the property that we were given a key for as it had a washing machine.

We went to the old cabin with the property owner to see how the machine worked (it was old).  The house felt fine but was much older and furnished in a 1950's style.  I went back early in the day to start a load and had an odd feeling as I entered the house.  The best I can describe is an unwelcome feeling.  I played it off to imagination and an old musty house.  I returned later to transfer the clothes to the dryer.  As I entered the house I had an overwhelming feeling of being unwelcome and slight dread.  I felt very heavy and ill in my stomach as soon as I entered.  Again, I played it off to fear and I turned on the porch light, entry light, and laundry room light.  As I would be returning, I left the lights on and locked the door.

As I returned to the cabin later, I noticed as I walked across the field that the porch light was off.  Odd, the bulb must have blown?  I unlocked and entered the cabin and the entry light was also off?  A fuse?  Both switch were in the off position.  I reached over and flipped the porch and entry light switches, both lights came on.  I hurried down the hallway and the laundry light was off!  This also came on when I flipped the switch.  Three lights, all turned off in a locked cabin?  The house felt very cold and drafty, yet all the windows and doors were closed.  I felt so heavy and sick to my stomach, I wanted to vomit.  It was all I could do to grab my clothes.  As soon as I left the cabin, I felt immediately better.  I slowed and looked back at the cabin as I made my way across the field.  The kitchen window faced me and both the curtains were pulled to the sides, as if someone was looking out of the window.  The curtains then fell closed.  I took off running....

My friends were at their same position all night watching the football game, and I had the only key to the cabin in my pocket.  They saw my fear and I figured I was in for a razzing.  Instead hearing my story and realizing how scared I was, not one of them would go to the cabin the rest of the week.  Realizing I left the front door unlocked in my escape, it took some time to return and lock it.  Even walking up onto the porch, I felt as if I should not be there and should leave immediately.

Since this I have had other incidents.  I have yet to see an apparition, but have felt things, heard voices and noises.  My wife and I heard so many voices through our white noise maker after her Dad passed away, we had to get rid of it.  We heard her voice spoken several times in the night.

My brother and his wife's old apartment was haunted.  They would often feel someone sit on the bed in the middle of the night, and doors would open and slam shut.  They called him "Charlie."  He seemed to respond to the name and would often close and open doors on command.

Makes a person wonder......

When I was 16 years old I was fast asleep in my bed.
My step brothers and I had an upstairs room. It was the only upstairs room with a single door entrance.
There was a stairway that led directly to the door with a light at the top of the stairs.
The light came on in the middle of the night and for whatever reason I sat up and said, "Grandpa?"
Mind you my grandfather was 3000 miles away in Florida and I was in Sacramento.
I didn't talk to my grandfather on a regular basis whatsoever and probably hadn't talked with him for severeral months.
I asked my mom if she turned on the light in the middle of the night. She said she hadn't. In fact, no one in the house had after I questioned everyone.
My mom then broke the news to me that my grandfather had passed away in the middle of the night.
Freaky. Gettin' chills right now thinking about it.
I believe I inherited my love of fishing from him. He fished all the time and showed me the ropes on Lake Erie back in '68.

Cool Thread....  :evil1:

2am, San Francisco, working as a Private Paramedic with San Francisco Ambulance, mid 90's...

Were on a call by ourselves (  my partner and I..) for the ill person at Laguna Honda...  Laguna Honda is a Very Big, Very Old building and has significant HX in San Francisco, but now is a where house for the old and dying... it's really unbelievable to walk through there... the vibe can be cut with a knife,  just vast beds of forgotten old people as long as football fields...  I will say at least there not stuck in a small room with 4 beds...but I digress ...

We get to our pt.  she's dying and needs to be intubated... full code...sad, as there is no life really to save.. we start our procedures and it's a bazaar scene looking around and seeing beds as far as the eye can see, and no one else walking around...

I'm getting ready intubate, and my partner is getting other equipment ready at the foot of the bed...

Just as I'm ready to advance the tube... I hear a strange..  " No!!!!..." and my right shoulder is grabbed... Hard, and I'm pulled backward onto the bed then to floor.....  :smt104

"WTF!!!??" I yelled at my partner..  he is just looking at me thinking the same thing, he was about 10' from me, on the other side of the bed and gurney....  he heard the " No..." too   :smt087 :smt105

Transport!!!  we got the hell out of there with the patient, continued care,

but it was a hopeless case and she did pass away... never forget it,

and that grab on my shoulder was like a searing burn with incredible strength .... :evil3:

explain that to workers comp.....  :smt002

I've seen quite a few things but there is one thing in particular that has been embedded into my mind.
When I was younger probably about 5 or 6 we used to live in a house of off Meridian Ave. in San Jose.
My family and I were in the garage just hanging out and I decide to go back into the house to get something out of my room. Everyone that lived in the house was in the garage. So I go back in and grab what I wanted. As I'm walking back to the garage I just get this urge to stop infront of the big sliding glass door that leads to the back yard. The blinds were closed but I get this sudden curiosity to look out side. I go towards the glass door and peek outside...
I see what looks like the figure of a man...but it's completly engulfed in flames.
He had what looked like horns but they were flames.
I kept looking at it as he walked across the yard. It's walking real slow and all of a sudden stops...turns it's head slowly towards me and looks directly at me.
It was f*@#ing crazy. It's eyes were just darkness. Almost as if someone had pulled it's eye's out of its eye sockets.
At that point I got hella scared and ran back to the garage with my family.
I've seen other stuff like fireballs in the sky...and I'm not talking about tiny fireballs in the sky. I'm talking aobut huge fireballs at eye level that would just appear and then dissapier.
My dad has hella stories of when he was was a kid. He lived in Mexico and back then there was no electricity. He would tell me that there was a lot of supernatural shit going on back then.

This is a true reincarnation story about my nephew, Paolo.  This happened when he was 3 years old.  Every time he was riding with his parents to and from their house they drive a regular route.

Along the way he would point to a house and say “I use to live there”.  At first his parents didn’t take him seriously.

Then he began to tell this story.

"When I was a baby I was very sick.  I can see a lot of people of crying around me.

When I died I remember my Mom, Ginny was very lonely and misses me."

So his Mom was getting goose bumps. There’s no way a 3 year old can come up with this story.  She finally had the guts to investigate and talk to people in this house.

Sure enough a toddler boy did pass away and his Mom’s name is Virginia or Ginny as Paolo was telling them.

From then on they started taking another way home.  Paolo has now graduated from college and doesn’t make a deal out of this.

Mt. Shasta Ranch Bed & Breakfast, about 7 years ago for my wife's Christmas party.  Nice dinner, play a few board games, and everyone heads to their room.  It's an old ranch, been around for well over 100 years, the decor is old school.  Our room had all kinds of dolls and lace linen stuff, so the general ambiance had me out of my element.

Went to sleep, startled awake to an apparition like figure of an old woman hovering over our bed.  Absolutely terrifying, I was paralyzed and couldn't move, couldn't scream, couldn't do anything except look at this figure.  After a few seconds I could hear, clear as a bell a voice say "the power of Christ compels you" and the figure disappeared.  Gone, vanished, like nothing had ever happened.
For some reason I wasn't freaked out, I just laid in bed (wide awake) until the sun came up when I told my wife about it...needless to say we packed our shit and got out of there.  I asked the caretaker if anyone had ever mentioned any kind of supernatural incidents, her reply:  'Mostly in the old ranch hand's house, but yes all the time".

Freaky shit, I still get goosebumps thinking about it.
