Okay, it's Thursday, the forecast for the Saturday looks pretty kayakable.

I am healthy and hungry and am down for some salmon or striper fishing.

Anywhere from Moss to Lindamar.

Advice, company, discussion etc., welcome.

Stu? Blue? Jason? Savage? Advice?

Where should I go, what should I target, thanks!

Honestly all reports that I have read give you your best shot at Moss Maybe SC . I am planning Linda Mar because it is down the street but Probably for crab. Then I will recon for Striper or Salmon.

Sorry John, I'm earning WAF this weekend.

My family and the "Savage" family are taking the kiddies on a ferry ride to Angel Isl on Sunday.  No fishing gear allowed, per the "W" in WAF.

Salmon fishing still sounds a little slow, stripers and butts a little early too (though Pat definitely proved there's some around).

What would I do if I had a hall pass, hmm.......  Here's an insane thought.

Hit Tomales EARLY Sunday AM with a shovel (8:30am peak minus tide) , then load the yak, drive north an hour and a half and get some abs and uni.  Shellfish trifecta!!!!

Man, that's all a dream.  I gotta work on Sat.

Sucks to be me,
Stuart

I'm thinking Moss on Saturday for salmon and maybe the Forebay Stripers on Sunday....if Papa Bill can score WAF points :smt002

John-

I haven't checked the reports yet but, the bit is real slow from the last time I checked. Fish can be had just about anywhere right now. If I weren't helping Stuie earn some WAF pts... I'd like to try the north side of the canyon of Moss for salmon, maybe cruise over towards Pajaro for buts or in the bay for sturgies and stripers in all likelihood. I think that it's still a bit early for buts. Pat got one though, so you never know. Either that or trying to get more points on the board fishing for trout or anything else that I haven't caught yet. Looks like it'll be a nice weekend though. Good luck to you out there... fish hard and your hard work will pay off.

Stuie-

You are a maniac for even thinking that shit up. Where do you come up with that stuff??? The worse part about it... I'd be doing the driving with you.

Trout at Del Valle might be an alternative to Moss on Saturday. It's been a while since I've fished there.....hmmmmm....the crappie bite at Lexington would be another choice....decisions...decisions...decisions :smt011

John,

I haven't rec'd any calls for MB/HMB, so I assume its not looking that good.  Don't have any contacts who fish above HMB, so I don't know what's going on at Dux and above, other than what's posted on coastside.

Bookmark this site.  Its really good at maintaining current party boat scores:

Today, as of 5pm, it was bad. 5 boats, 53 anglers, 14 fish.

Boat Trip Type Anglers Catch
Check Mate 3/4 Day  15 2 King Salmon
Star of Monterey 3/4 Day  15 3 King Salmon
Caroline 3/4 Day  15 3 King Salmon
Kahuna 3/4 Day  4 2 King Salmon
Becky Ann 3/4 Day  4 4 King Salmon

Hang tight.  It will pick up.

Stuart

I'm thinking of staying south, either Moss and paddle northwest,
or go and paddle the lindamar coast in
explore-and-hope-for-a-stray-striper mode.

The forebay is probably my third option.

as mooch says, decisions, decisions,  :smt017

I'll save Dux for the fall.

those pigeon point reports were encouraging for a day or so, that's pretty close
to Nuevo, but the coastside herd looks like it's striking out there now.  that's got
sharks, rockfish and salmon on the outside, right?

I'm surprised you fished there that last day of the season last year, I thought you
were a goner for sure,  :smt002

I have a feeling that the fish are going to appear at moss on saturday, I'm getting a good
feeling.

I am dreaming of paddling in shorts somewhere, forebay Lexington or Del Valle IF I can get a little WAF.

bill don't hang around afterwards having lunch.  bolt straight home. Get home by 12:30,
relieve your wife, clean up later, you'll survive. those years
with little kids are the toughest,  :smt002

and remember, mooch and I are always there to use your gear for you,  :smt004

forebay is a definite possibility for me.  I got a few rogues with dressed tail hooks ready to go.
must be the rattle that makes 'em work so well.
I'm also thinking a small hairraiser or plastic behind a clear float, designed to hang above the weeds
might work.  like a 6' leader behind a big clear float? no rattle there tho. maybe a rattle on the float
would bring 'em in. maybe a big fat nightcrawler behind a float. slow troll/drift it. hmmm...

lexington is still muddy. I can't handle crowds so I don't think del valle would work for me.

well, got another day to decide. hopefully I'lll still be healthy.
