I've owned and carried air canned power horns in the past, but they suck when they run out of air or the can starts rusting.  Been there... done that!

I now use one of these mouth air horns that I bought at West Marine years ago.  They're small and all plastic, so no worry about rusting parts.

One word of caution ---- they're so incredibly loud (120 decibels) that you almost need ear plugs to use them.  I just don't know if West Marine still carries them. If any knows where I can buy another one locally, please let me know.

I played around with these Boaters Mouth Horn at my local kayak store.  Out of 3 only 1 worked and wasn't even loud.
Its also the size of a coffee mug which makes it pain to store and get to.

That human powered horn from SA, how much breath does it take to make loud?  I imagin the more you blow, the louder it is?  I'm wondering if, say someone was really cold from a long cold swim, would that person be able to use this horn?
