                              TEAM SIGN-UP PROCEDURE
 PLEASE FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS:
1. Register with Eric by 4/12/12
2. When your name appears on Erics' REGISTERED LIST,
PM me with screen name, full name, and approved team choice.
(You need to be approved by one or more members of an existing team)
(You can also start a new team of 2-10 members)
3. Once I have received your PM, I will put you on your team and your IN.

You do not need to be in the team comp. to be eligible to fish,
but you do need to fish with someone with a VHF for safety puposes :smt002

If I have missed someone that is REGISTERED and PMed me,
you want to start a new team,
I put someone on wrong team,
or your on a team and can't make it,
 PM me. :smt002

I will be at Erics' safety/intro meeting at the launch
and at the campground Friday evening for teams
needing to make final adjustments.
No team adds or drops will be accepted after 9:00 p.m. Fri.
(unless I'm still awake and you bring some bribe payola, gear or beer) :smt002

TEAM TOURNEY RULES
1. Team Average Format
Total team points divided by the number of anglers on team=Team score
2. All scores on the team will be averaged,
whether an angler fished or not,
     posted a score or not,
     got skunked or not
     or was a no show.
3. Late scores will not be accepted.
Once The main board closes it's done.

Finally,
Some of you know I'm not the "competitive type" when it comes to fishing.
I started the Team Tourney component of Gimme Shelter last year (Thanks Eric!)
as a way for me to personally give back to the community (NCKA) and tournament (Gimme Shelter)
that has been so influencial in my life over the past 5 years.
It's my hope that we can "compete" in the true spirit of sportsmanship,
to congratulate and celebrate the victorious and come to the realization
that we are all winners when we are on the water together persuing our passion! :smt003 :smt004

Thanks,
Tad- GS Team Tourney Coordinator

Hey,

A few of us are looking into getting a vacation home for the weekend.  We have about 4-5 guys, and are looking for maybe 4-5 more.  If we can get at least 8, it will be ~$40/night for Friday-Sunday. Its about a half mile from the campground, so we can party with ya'lls in the evening, then retire to more civilized accommodations!  :smt044

Reply or PM with interest, thanks!

I rented a small house that I'm sharing with two of my team-mates.  The total cost including the cleaning fee is $55 per night each.  I rented it sight-unseen and it's supposed to be pretty small but it has a bathroom and a kitchen.  It's also less than a mile from the launch.  I rented it several months ago through the "HomeAway" web site.  I had to place a hefty refundable deposit to reserve it but it's an alternative to camping or the pricey motels.

Heads up, Everyone, this is a very good idea!!!   :smt001

Shelter Cove is laid out to where you'll never be too far from the action if you find a rental somewhere near the airstrip, and, like Fiver and FnB have info on here, there are some good deals to be had.  Having a place to wash gear and hang it out of the weather, shower, take shelter in the evening if the wind blows and it rains...etc., is pretty huge.

Sorry, Campers, for being a downer!   :smt005  You guys kick ass and I know nothing will affect you.   :smt003

Get your place to stay situated, because things are blowing out - we're up to 124 paid participants as of today (have yet to update and post), so there will be at least a couple to a few hundred NCKA related people in the Cove for the weekend.   :smt001

Spent the afternoon pouring swim baits for GS-6.  Anyone have any thoughts on colors?  I poured a bunch of tri-colored that are similar to the "Halloween" ones except a little more blood red on top.

Can't wait to see your work, Martin.  Red, White and Rootbeer have always been favorites.   :smt001
