Dude, I've been wanting to go for the last 2 years, got shot down by the family schedule each time.  I've almost got the ok, just need to line a couple more things up....

Yep, actually opens this Saturday (7th) at the Cove.

But only until April 30.  Rumor has it that the PFMC has agreed to May 1 opening for this summer - they should announce today or tomorrow, they have been meeting all this week.  We should know in a matter of a few hours but all indications are yes, we will be fishing for salmon.

Cant wait. Went to pacific outfitters today and it was so hard not buying new gear for rockfishing season, But was able to resist the urge I have so much of the stuff that its not even funny.

I'd like to trade some saltwater flies for a home made ab iron & gauge. Leaf spring steel would be very cool for the iron, aluminum for the gauge would be good. Any interest?
