Don't get a Malibu X-Factor unless you like to exert more effort and forget how it feels to capsize.   :smt003

In other words, and seriously, the X-Factor is likely the most stable fishing yak, but it does work the body more than the other choices.

Not so fast there... wanna b.   :smt003         No need to rush into this.   Plenty of time to demo a few boats,
then take your time  rigging  it for  what suits your style.

         Sand ?    We have  " Sand"         $ 850 ???      I can match that with NCKA discount .

Check out the Santa Cruz Raptor at 13 feet and weighing in at only 60 lbs  you won't have any trouble loading it.
The Raptor  IS the most stable fishing kayak out there.   Nothing else even begins to  compare in stability.

Contact me for a demo paddle after you  get a chance to demo the  OK.

   Thanks   Jim

I think its all a matter of opinion, I paddled a trident 15 a few times and didn't care for it. I tested a few others and finally got a malibu x-factor. Im 5'11" and 165lbs and everyone told me it would be too big/slow. But I loved it. Now I'm paddling a stealth 14 and love it even more. I have no problem standing up, or accessing the massive front hatch on the water. I like like the fact that if the surf is pounding I can put everything below deck during launch / landings. or collapse my cart and store it up there. Just my .02 the x-factor / stealth 14 (same hull) are the most stable boats out there and hold 500lbs of gear

By all means,
Take your time and  pick what is best for you and only you. There are a lot of great choices out there.

You can do what I did (which everyone will sneer at; and I am not really recommending you do); don't test any - just buy one and you won't know any different  :smt003

I was looking at Tarpon's then came across a great deal on a OK T15 from another member.  That one never hit the water; it was fully rigged - but, I really enjoy doing my own mods - so the mod bug prevailed over the practicality of buying a set up boat.  I sold it and bought a new OK T13.  I'm sure there's other boats I may not have been happy with - and there's a couple others that I would like to have in the stable (from a "that's cool vs. functional perspective).  But, the OK Ts are popular for a reason and I couldn't be happier.

I have had the luxury of paddling some of the popular kayaks listed and each one of them has there own stengths for fishing.

I love the stability of my Raptor; it is the most stable kayak on the water to date. And I have taken it in the ocean on some really narly days. My weakness is I am a VERY SLOW paddler and it makes it very challenging keeping up with my buddies.

I love the hands-free fishing of my Hobie Revo; great for fishing on the move or trolling using a downrigger. But the rounded rails makes it tippie from me; however, the the addition of an outrigger, I feel alot stabler and safer.

Trident 13 was a beautiful first boat; fast, stabile and very fishing oriented. I loved that boat and regret ever seller her; but I could on kept one single paddle kayak in my arsenal....

My perfect kayak would be a Trident 13 with the back section of the Raptor fitted with a Mirage Drive... :smt044
