went to sea ranch over the weekend with fishndive and got abalone. a few large perch in smugglers cove and one rock fosh just outside of it. my wife saw a whale real close to me and i had no idea. swells were 10 feet or so. best part of the weekend was hanging out with friends and exploring new places as well as surfing my abalone dive board!! we also went to anchor bay as well. i was feeling pukey. swells were killing me. absolutely killing me but it was fun. entry was ok, exit at anchor was a nice surf and then ended with a nice roll when the wave smashed down on me from behind. then the abalone board surf contest began....

Great that you could turn 10' swell into a good day!

thanks to all those who suggested entry points around the sea ranch area. we went to one place that was beautiful, clear waters inside of a very calm cove. just outside there were large rollers and whales bobbing around. my wife said there was one right behind me but i had no idea.

driving home on sunday morning the waters were clear and blue as well as lower swells. i sure would have liked to be in the water that day but had to get home to get ready for work!!!!
