why the duct tape?  To patch hull?  Just for general usefulness?

how dare you question the mighty duct tape :smt011 What kind of man are you? DUCT TAPE rules the universe :smt002

Duct tape: can seal the hull from the inside (if you can reach it) - use it as a band aid - if you're paddling a tandem and your wife or kid starts to complain = tape their mouths shut - patch your blisters - if you ever get stranded in Ano Nuevo Island, you can use duct tape as a fire starter......

John is a PhD Engineer which means he has accounted for every possible scenario except the one most likely to occur.  :smt003

I just got the new NRS catalog, they have new Osprey PFDs that look pretty cool.

When the hell are people going to realize just cause we are fishing doesn't mean we want our gear in camo colors?!?!?

oooh, that smarts!  :smt005

you are last in line for my jet now, mr. web lackey!

actually I noticed my little PM's are gone today.  get on it, you non-Ph.D manangler type.

hmm, maybe my lack of PM's are intentional? that would be dirty pool tho. Bill wouldn't do that, would he?

BTW, I think I've been wrongfully implicated on the PFD thing. I have one,
I use it as kayak flotation, stuffed in the bow,  :smt002

It's mooch that attaches everything but the kitchen sink to his PFD. or at least is famous for it.

Sorry, must be the usual memory fade kicking in.  Will be outfitting the pfd soon [see below.]

BTW: Trigger pulled, boat ordered, deposit on the plastic. Adventure Fisherman model in mango (anchor, paddle, rod holder, cooler, cart, ??), pfd, sail kit, daggerboard, enhanced drive, enhanced rudder, and soft cartop carry sytem.

Yakima racks and older Ford Taurus' do not mix. No nav light system available from dealer.

Dealer said talked to Hobie: dealer only getting 1 enhanced drive for now [it's promised to me], daggerboards on back order [I showed the dealer they had 2 on the wall], enhanced rudders on back order [but one is due in tomorrow and promised to me with the boat], and NO NEW SAIL KIT OR OTHER UPGRADES UNTIL 2008.

Thanks to everyone who has posted or replied about the Adventure in helping me get to the decision point.

That's awesome.  Congrats.  BTW - What's the enhanced drive and rudder?

The enhaced or turbo Mirage drive has larger ?fins? than the original that are supposed to enhance performance.  The enhaced rudder is larger than the original and is also reported to enhace or improve steering and  turnig ability.  They are described as upgrades and are reportedly very much back ordered now.  I think I got lucky to get both, though I will not see the boat for week or so to be sure I got both.

Hey Mooch , Why don't you wear duck tape instead of a speedo
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

I thought he was using it for hair removal  :dwarf:
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
