For all the people who've crabbed at Doran Beach before would 50-60 ft of line be sufficient?

Looking forward to meeting all of you guys this Saturday/Sunday.

50-60 sounds good. Most places are around 30 feet deep. You can always tie up the excess

 :smt006 Just a friendly reminder:

1) Max of only 4 traps may be used

2) No overnight soaks, all traps must be dropped in water anytime after 7:45 AM on 1/29/2012

3) Only kayaks allowed, no motors

4) you must follow all CA Department of Fish and Game regulations.

50-60 sounds good. Most places are around 30 feet deep. You can always tie up the excess

You do not want too much excess line loose in the water.

Rule of thumb: "Depth of Soak" plus "20% of Depth of Soak" (known as 'Scope") = length of line

Coil and zip-tie the excess; and used wieghts on the line to keep it from floating and tangling up props...

:smt010 :smt010 I wanna go crabbing too  :smt010

Actually, I was gonna put 'Coastside Fishing Club' but it all wouldn't fit; so I opt'd not to put anything at all.....

10' of line is perfect, 3lb test. Use cat shit for bait. That's the winning ticket! :)
