Wow, I'm really glad you guys are okay!  I can't imagine how you two are feeling.  I've gone out of PP a good number of times the last couple of years, some of them with Ted.  With this latest incident, I am having second thoughts about launching out of there, at least during the peak of the GWS migration.  Again, I'm really, really glad that no one was physically injured in this attack.

Holy shit!!!!   What more can be said.
That place has become my favorite place and I just cant get enough of it.   But every time I am there I have a highly uneasy feeling.   I love it there and can accept some risk but that place just made me uncomfortable despite my great love for it.
Clearly there is something going on there that makes it different from other places.   Maybe the ling cod and rockfish association have hired security guards to protect them.  3 hits in a short period is a bit much.

Glad you guys are ok.   Holy shit.

Havent met you but I am happy that you are alright. Shaken and stirred but alive. A memory that lasts forever I would think. Waiting for the pics when you guys are ready. Up under the seat? The teeth marks in the hull directly below your ass? JC!

Really glad things turned out OK, Harry's a great guy, fisherman and waterman. I don't extend fishing invitations to just anyone and feel kinda bad that I was the one that initiated this trip. I called Harry late last night to see if he wanted to go and he was all for it.

We planned meeting around 9:00, I got there early and met 2 guys with a large aluminum canoe. They launched quickly on the south side and were back in within 5 mins. They said the water was brown, no vis, eel grass everywhere and thousands of tiny jellyfish. So Harry shows up and we decide to launch on the north side.

Condtions were craptastic, a hang you legs over the side, barely watching the FF and watching for the wind waves kind of day. Because of the conditions we stayed in close, barely venturing out side the little rock island (not prisoner rock, it is on the south side). We were in like 20-30ft most times, I saw as low as 13ft sometimes with the minus tide coming. I lost a ling about 25" at the surface almost immediately and kept 2 very nice blacks 21-22".

We continue to fish and battle the conditions, Harry never seems bothered by it though. I was about 20 yards inside Harry facing shore when I hear the yell. I turn and see Harry getting launched off his yak, but then my attention is immediately drawn to the back end of the GWS going in the water. I saw about 7ft of it but did not see the top fin. The GWS had to be completely airborn to go in at that angle.

We somehow make it to shore after trying unsuccessfully to get Harry in without him going in the water. Luckily we were close in because his yak had some serious holes in it that we did not know about.

All my theories got blown up about fishing out there; GWS like to attack when it's cloudy or low light, chop on the water makes it harder for them to find you, they can't "Polaris" attack in shallow water, staying close together helps....so much for those theories...I'm done fishing there fall/winter.

This is my 2nd video of an incident, let's make it my last.

Harry gave his blessing on the video so here ya go...

You're right, we were not at Prisoner, we were on north side, that little island is little more than a wash rock at high tide.
