http://finance.yahoo.com/news/the--200-000-a-year-mine-worker-.html

There are lucrative jobs out there, they may not be what you are used to, or the type of job you want, but there are literally thousands of jobs in mining in Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, and tens of thousands of jobs overseas. They are hiring people with no experience, granted they are laborer jobs, but work none the less.  This debate came up today, when I had several people whine there just aint work out there, especially for our vets. BULLSHIT!

I personally know, that the mines in Nevada are hiring laborers, mechanics, operators, miners, electricians, etc. And, paying signing bonuses! If I was out of work, had a family and couldnt find anything in a month, I would be in Northern Nevada tomorrow! Any job type, they have. Wont be 200K, but 80 plus is not unheard of for entry level. Same with drilling for oil and gas in North Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming. So I have NO PITY, for people that cry they cant find a job! I have contacts, and numbers, PM me and make a life change for the better!

Gee Rich working in a coal mine sounds great. I'm sure people will be lined up for miles. Whose whining? Theres ton of produce to be harvested in the south now also due to the fact they are tightening the laws for migrant  workers. That doesn't pay so well though. You might get a break. You might be lucky and get a place to sleep with 50 others, a communal bathroom. Sounds even better than working in a coal mine doesn't it? Fresh air. Exercise. No medical. No vacation. No sick leave.  You should go man! Opportunity awaits you!

Oh and those laborer jobs overseas? A real plus for people who don't care to make a living wage. You can probably be a welder in China where you can work 14 hours a day for almost nothing. What type of labor are you referring to? Where are these overseas jobs specifically at?

Demand for those willing to work 12-hour days in sometimes dangerous conditions, while living for weeks in dusty small towns, is huge.  "Inflationary pressures are driving up costs and wages at mining hot spots like Western Australia, Chile, Africa,"

When I got out of the army in 74  my first job was a construction laborer starting at 8 dollars an hour.   That covered my rent, car expenses, food,,, and plenty left over to take my girl out on a date.      I've been a General Contractor for the past 30 years.  I hate to "Whine",  but I've never seen such a depressed economy.   35 years later,,, I can easily find laborers today eager to work for 8 dollars an hour.   Prior to that I worked building yachts for Stephens Marine in Stockton.   They used to build  PT boats during WWII.  Good paying jobs for highly skilled carpenter, welders, painters, electricians, etc...   We had  Steel mills,  Auto manufacturing,  Electronics etc...   Nike shoes was the first "American" mfg to dump 4000 workers in WA for cheap labor overseas. ( notice the price of their shoes didn't go down)
In the past 20 years I've witnessed a mass exodus of jobs overseas while a mass influx of people entered the country from overseas.   "Free Trade will increase America's exports " politicians ( from Regan to Obama)  explained... what  they meant was export of jobs.
You have no clue what it was like in this country before "Free Trade"  went into effect.  Free Trade was the corporate solution to get out of paying taxes and wages.     Taxes are what paid for the massive infrastructure you see crumbling around you today.  The massive military industry that occupies 150 countries around the world.  US satellites and space exploration...   These corporations that became multi- billion dollar industries on the backs of American labor ( American consumers also ),  " Can't Compete" anymore... "taxes are too high "...    "environmental regulations hamper our profits"   these  CEO's  "Whine"  from the comfort  of corporate jets.       Patriotism is a foreign concept to them.   These are the offspring of WWII vets.   Greedy spoiled brats whose only  thought is how to increase personal wealth.   The difference between them and their fathers is a total lack of patriotism.    The returning veterans of WWII would never have considered this idea of outsourcing those jobs of  the men whom they fought alongside with in battle.

I didn't see anything in that link about US jobs ,  but if leaving your home to work in the desert of Nevada, ( in the middle of nowhere),  mining ore from deep in the bowels of the earth is your idea of a successful career ???   That's a sorry example   :smt009
"tens of thousands" of jobs overseas...   Hooey,  put a sign in front of HomeDepot .    I'll stay here and " Occupy" thank you.

I've heard "whining" about liberals  this and liberals that...  " It's entitlements that are driving up the Natl Debt..."
 BULLSHIT !!!
Here's a list of entitlements that should be eliminated.
1) Congressional entitlements.        No more salary or benefits  after term of office.  Period!  ( don't like the pay, don't run for the office )
2) Presidential  budget. .................  Slash it.    ( He's the president, not God almighty.)
3) Farm Subsidies..........................   eliminate it  completely.  No more corporate welfare.
4) Foreign cash giveaways............   CUT,     Pakistan, N.Korea, Egypt, Israel, and every other country the US is bribing with my tax dollars.
5) Defense spending...                      over 10 times what the rest of the world combined spends...    Let's get serious.   Why do we keep a WWII era mothball fleet still ?  2,800 nuclear weapons?

We the People  need to  get rid of this  cancerous system of legalized bribery  that has corrupted our Congress and Senate.   Outlaw lobbyist !     Our elected representatives should only be listening to their constituents , not  the highest bidder.     This is the root of all that is wrong in our government.  This is where the trail of money ends each and every  time.   This is why this country is in the state it's in today.

As of this morning's USA/AUS exchange rate, that Aussie mine worker is actually making USD $200,581/year!  Not bad cheddar, but aint for everyone.  A major occupational error and he'll really wind up "down under" and I dont mean flipping shrimp on the barby
