Doran Vet Day Crabbing

OK the weather might be turning but I'm hoping it holds long enough for a limit this Friday.

I'm in.  How rough does it get there?  My dad wants to come along, but he isn't much of a swimmer.......
Also, what time can we get in there?  I fondly remember my first time there with you guys on the clamming/crabbing combo earlier this year.....looking forward to returning!

The holder of the key to the gate for the jetty day use area strolled in at about 7:30 both sat. and today.

When I want to leave early I park in the dirt outside the gate wheel though the lot then pull my car over when I come back in. Looks like a south swell might be moving in or I would join.

Yup it's the south swell we don't want but what the surfers are looking for.

Damn, I was looking forward to tasting first of the season fresh Dungies too! If the weather is too wicked at Doran, is HMB any better?

heck I got 4 days off starting Friday so I have days to waste.  I'll probably just go to doran even if forecast is iffy just to check it out in person.  Forecast has been known to be wrong a lot of times! 
Plus I need more crabs for dinner for the Pacquiao fight!

I'm looking at it right now and it is nasty....crabable but not the beginner waters that you usually see here.

Wind is good but the southerly is breaking just past the Jetty, where I had my pots last Saturday.

E wind so at least it will blow us towards the shore.  Stronger wind later in the day so we will hit em' early then.

Won't be able to carpool with you buddy since I'm bringing my kid and wife along to see me ride the waves.  We are leaving V town aroun 5:45 - 6 and should get there by seven.  drop the rig for dungees and some rings by the rocks for reds.  If it gets nasty then just drop promars on sandy area and head back inside the car.  Kiel and a couple of other guys will be out there as well so we keep each other safe.
