I'm pushing 60 now, and so far I don't need one.  That's the thing about paddlesports. They're low impact, so if you keep with it, you should be able to paddle till you're 80, no problem - unless you have a health issue.  That's why you see all those geezer sea kayakers.

i'm no athlete, but I paddle as well as I ever did.............

I think getting electrified is a feedback loop for becoming an even a weaker paddler.......the less you paddle, the less you can paddle.
