No, and I actually passed right by one.  But wanted the 1$ deal so I can buy like 2 dozen of them for cheap  :smt003

Now while sitting in a particularly boring meeting this morning, I got to wondering if I could build a kayak out of pool noodles and cord  :smt044  Might need a couple more dozen pool noodles!!  :smt005

Wrong season for pool noodles.  Wait till spring or use pipe insulation from the hardware store.

They're $1/ea regular price at Dollar Tree (currently out-of-stock).  Wouldn't hurt to call the stores around your area.  @ cases should be enough to build your noodle kayak  :smt044

The newer Hobie's have built in foam.  I wish the other manufactures would do the same.

Indeed. I'd like to see built in secondary flotation in a an SOT.
I think I'll be replacing the stern floatbag on my tarpon with noodles this winter.

For those of you getting ready to noodle up take a look at the little helpers I made for myself when I was filling my T13.

You could make bulkheads out of the foam Baitman posted up. Then paint the ends for total waterproofing. Maybe I will mess around with the scupper first to see if it will work.

I bought my pool noodles at Albertson for $0.50 each at the end of Summer. Give them a try.

Dale L,

I installed my pool noodles using your method. The only problem I had was that once the 12 pool noodles were packed in my P13, I could not pull the double length noodles out without leaving the inn ones (those that were jammed between the rear scuppers and the hull) behind after the PVC connectors pulled out. I fixed this by running mono through the entire length of the double length noodles, and tying each end to a piece of plastic. No more stuck pool noodles!

Doh'  You're right, I hope it doesn't cause anyone more trouble, I forgot to mention that I found when I first made them up they stayed together just fine on the removal, but as they aged they came apart as you described, I did mine with glue (Lexel) but the mono is probably better/quicker/less messy.  I also installed a 4" hatch in the stern for access.
