Tired of the Fort. Will probably launch at Timber.

Sunday: Variable winds 5 kt or less. Mostly sunny. Mixed swell...WNW 2 ft and SSW 2 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Well, if the sequal is anything like the original then I'll be happy!

Alrighty....I'll talk to my GF this evening. If her parents want some more fish then I will be hitting the coast for the sure thing. If not, then I'll do Tomales.

If it comes down to Tomales I'm probably going to launch on the West side, at Heart's Desire. I've heard of a single WSB caught in Tomales and haven't heard of any halis...or even bait for that matter....so keep that in mind.

Google - Hearts Desire, Point Reyes Station, CA 94956. It's a State Park and parking is $10, I believe.

Another option would be to launch at Marshall, since the WX is calling for West winds in the afternoon it could possibly blow us right across the bay to the launch. But we'd have to paddle all the way across the bay to get to the good water.

Decisions, decisions.

Why don't yall target a pacific halibut at Stillwater or Gerstle cove. They taste much better and they are bigger.

Hey D - picked-up a 30.5" butt at Tomales west of Hog on 8/28, tough making bait, only caught 1 smelt, got the butt on a frozen herring. Fished it again the day before RBC2 - no butts, one shark on frozen herring. For what it's worth.....good luck.

There's a big, dangerous sea outside today, but that's okay, because the halibut were in the deep hole inside the bar, and they were hungry. Two boats fished there with three fishermen and landed eight halibut, four on live smelt and four on jigs.
