I see that people are headed out on Thursday and Saturday.  Anyone interested in Friday?  Sea conditions don't look too bad, but rain is likely.  On a side note, is there anywhere to launch between Del Monte Beach and Moss Landing without dealing with big surf?

Depending upon how tomorrow goes, I will probably be interested in Friday.

Nope.  Del Monte (MBK) is the furthest North launch without surf until you get to Moss.

I would be interested in launching from Del Monte.

Sweet...if it works out what's the target?  You going to lead me to a big flattie?  Good luck tomorrow to you and gatohoser and whoever else.

You down for Friday, Aaron?  What about you, Ed?

Salmon Salmon Salmon Salmon.....all said with appropriate rolling of the eyes, burning of incense and waving hands in suggestive ways.

I can point out well known flattie locations on the way out to find ffff's..(blue's fine feathered fish finders)

I might be able to come Paul. It'll be a last minute call for me for the rest of the week and weekend.

I am in for friday out of MBK.  I might try and push a little further North than I did last weekend.  I only went out to about 180 ft so maybe a little deeper also.

Well, it was a pretty smart move not joining us, Pat.  We headed out for the depths...got to 200' of water and probably close to half-way to Soldier's....Ed with his GPS would know better than I.  Didn't really mark much bait that far out....marked a bunch shallower than that.  We didn't really fish much before the wind started blowing.  We then planned on heading in shallower and trying for halibut, but by the time we got shallow, the wind was blowing even harder and drifting was near impossible.  So we fought a head wind the entire way in...well over a mile.  The wind couldn't have been anymore head-on.  It was as if there where giant fans on the beach right in front of MBK.  I screamed and cursed all the way in (literally).  It was all I could do to get the kayak loaded up and make it to my bed.  My pecs and abs are still on fire.

No way!  I would demand a refund.  NOAA said it would be a west wind.  Darn these government entitlements............. :smt002

I am sorry that you guys didn't find the magic for south Monterey Bay.  This week isn't looking particularly accomodating either.......... :smt009

Maybe I will get my garden in this week.........this would be an example of making lemonade.... :smt004
