I would like to entertain Hope! :smt003 Extreme Hope :smt006 Mike, Thats great that you like Hope too!

That's right Craig. Hope and belief are everything. No matter how dark things are, positive mental attitude is what makes the difference. Times are hard for sure. Just don't give up. We have all been there. Hey I went 0/10 on WSB last year.  :smt044

I did stare down the barrel of a revolver one time. I was a little more than on the scared side as you well know. I kept my cool and said nothing unless spoken to. This was in Jamaica around 1993. Only ended up losing a few bucks in the ordeal.

Live today for tomorrow's sake.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

I believe in hope but I don't rely on it. I believe that perseverance is a better word when shit hits the fan.

With all due respect to his lama'ness, I find it most interesting that humanity looks toward people that have little connection toward the reality of real life for little bits of wisdom like this.

I work to put food on the table, keep a roof over my family's head and use the little left over to enjoy myself.  If these were cave man times with  no monetary systems I'd likely be devoting alot of time and effort doing the same.  My health and time are not sacrificed toward earning a paycheck, its traded for the wellbeing of my family.

My brother hippy mike tried to rip a load of bull like this to me one day as we cut out of class for the day to go surf a nice nw swell that had been building.  LOL, hippymike was about three years into a 10 year plan to get his nursing degree, lived with his parents (on their dime) and partook in a fair number of halucinogens on his path to spiritual enlightenment.  Love him to death and his mantra cetainly fit his lifestyle but all his wise little tidbits and theories on life collapse once his parents stop footing the bill. Ironically enough he bought a used subie with a free tibet bumper sticker allegedly blessed by the dalai lama.

I'd invite his holiness off the lotus blossom from which he's perched to join the world of the regulars....we'll see how long his theories last.

And Mooch.... almost every day I listen to Johnny Cash on my way to my job while hoping the day goes smooth...they are all alive and well.

Sage advice your lameness. Actually the way of their life has far surpassed anything you will ever be remebered for. But I do retain hope for you too. :smt006

I apologize to any Tibetan Budhists that were offended by my opinion.

With that being said I don't see my post as any more inflamatory than the dalai lama's inference that my life is meaningless because I dedicate my time and health toward earning money.  I merely presented a differing opinion that's based more on realism than idealism.

I'll pray for you as well.
