The weather was extra nice, like it always is when Al and I visit this place. We got a late start, out the door by noon and an ice cream cone later we are at the quarry.

I was super excited to try out the new rig, and it delivered everything I expected. How I ever did this before is a mystery to me... :smt044 I love my new ride!!! BTW Mucho Thanks to James (and Al  :smt008)

So, we talked to to some nice SUPpers before launching and finally got out there. It was glassy at first and then just a little warm wind. Got used to the new specs and took off to try some trolling. Al decided to set up in one spot for some Bass so I took off. Ended up in the corner and decided to try my trout setup and sent it down. Was my typical powerbait cock and balls setup yellow sparkley worm and orange eggs. So I'm casting my lure in the meantime and zzzzzzzz goes my ultra-light ugly stick....I get situated and check my stuff, I'm prepared this time haha!! No jitters, nothing falling overboard.....I start reeling in and I'm like woah, this is a big trout!!! My rod is doubled over and now I'm starting to get a little excited because I've never landed one this big before. So I let it run and it feels like this thing is trying to burrow. After about two minutes I get it to the surface and it's a Catfish?! Al is so far away he can't hear me so I use my new sweet ride to get over to him after I net my first catch.

After the photo shoot we decide to troll over to the other end and on the way we find the baby Bass land, over and over and over for the rest of the afternoon. We came in as the sun set and what can I say I'm in Love......... :smt008

Whoa, guess I missed that you scored a nice new ride Sara!  Congrats!!!  And even better that you break it in with a multi-species day.

Although, it sounds like it's time to get you a VHF. :smt003

So when does Al upgrade so he can keep up with you? :smt044

What a great day with my favorite person in the world  :smt008  I just new something good was going to happen, even after leaving at the crack of Noon  :smt044  Sara really seemed to enjoy her new ride, which I picked up from James/Stormscrambler on Friday.  I think I wanted her to try it out more than she did  :smt005  Caught a few small bass while Sara caught even more and schooled me on her first Catfish EVER!  :smt007  I've still not caught one on the yak  :smt013 Lost a few good hits drop-shotting the reeds along the north end where I got my PB LMB last year.  So happy Sara likes her new boat!!!    :smt004
